OP loves the city, but if you just a bit north you can get way cheaper price + much more size. Living downtown toronto if you dont work there kind of sucks IMO. I hated it.

You said ur in capital markets? This might be shocking to you but in recessions like 2008 to 2010 like we are having. Now bonus are never often paid.

Nice OP.

In my field, you can make $150k+, even $200k, without too much responsibility.

But if you want that $200k+, or especially $300k+ money, you gotta be a director or something like that. Very high responsibilities at that point. I personally would rather make $150k-200k with less responsibilities.
