Is it dumb to live and stay in the same place your whole life?

IDK tbh. Grew up and lived in FL ever since. Brb zero state taxes. Brb optimal Winters. Brb no abortion laws of weirdness, and also theres a "don't say gay law". Brb lower CoL compared to most other states. Brb beaches, amusement parks.
At the end of the day, every single city looks the same in the US. Super Walmarts are the same. Costco / Sam's Club is the same. McDonalds doesn't change in Wisconsin versus Colorado. Same is true for Taco Bell, Chipotle, etc.
For the last few years I had it in my head that I should experience elsewhere. But now I'm starting to realize the greatness of what I've got. Only downside is "Florida Man", melting hot/humid summers, hurricanes, flatness, and zero snow fun.

I have lived in many places all over the world - Sydney, Australia; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Derveni (small fishing village in Greece, not far from Corinth), Greece; Guangzhou, China; Heyuan, China; Dongguan China; and now in regional NSW, Australia.
It depends on you, some people are adaptable and can live in very different kinds of settings, others just can't handle it. It also depends on how curious you are and how wiling you are to experience different things. Only you can answer those questions.

lmao @ going through the hassle of moving all around. for what?
we are fortunate that we can burn billions of gallons of fossil fuel to travel around the world as we wish. but for most of human history, we stayed within 5-10 square mile radius areas where our tribe lived.

Nah, still living in the same area we moved to when I was in grade school because there are lots of high paying jobs for me here and the cost of living is lower than most of the country. I get to save more money than most people my age then use some to travel often. Will have been to 48 countries by August, many multiple times, so I can't complain about anything and have never had the urge to move especially since friends/family are here SRS

Absolutely. Personally Im a type of guy who doesnt settle at one place and I love new challenges and places. World is too big to stay at one place the whole time. Im planning to move to Germany soon however if I got a chance to live in the States I would take it in a heartbeat. I will definitely move to US sometime in the future.

Not dumb, maybe not ideal?
It is good to get out and see the world, even if most of it is pretty dismaying.

My sister lives literally twenty minutes from where we grew up (in a major city) and her in laws and husband live in the same situation. They have never gone anywhere, ever and are approaching fifty. Kids even go to basically the same schools we did. I don't understand it personally, never experiencing anywhere different. They haven't even travelled at all because her and her husband are roommates. Weird life IMO.
