It makes sense in that it displays weakness and that you’re a liability if the therapist decides to report his stories to police. That's why he kept it a secret lol

Yeah I could never get into The Wire. It didn't have that hook factor on me that Sopranos did.
Only other shows that come close are Breaking Bad, Oz and seasons 1-4 of Dexter.

1. Better Call Saul
2. Breaking Bad
S6 of BCS is shaping up to be all time great. Tried watching the Wire & True Detective, those shows did nothing for me tbh. Sopranos is on my to-watch list.

Seen both numerous times. The Wire reigns supreme as the #1 show ever made srs. Sopranos is amazing and is a strong #2

The Wire is basically an accurate depiction of investigative law enforcement work & the drug world. Arguably the most realistic TV show about police work. To be perfectly honest its more realistic then the 'cops' tv show and stuff that shows actual police work.
The Sopranos is basically hollywood fiction on what they believe the mafia was like.
Both are entertaining shows but in a different way.
Actual former mob dudes that are doing youtube/podcasts now basically said he'd have gotten murdered immediately IRL for going see a psychologist.

Even ordered a hit on John Gotti.

The Wire is like the greatest play. It's engaging despite the medium, it has great tragedies, it has very quippy dialogue that stays in your head almost more like lyrics, and it's very entertaining. The Sopranos is more like an Opera and is very tragic, but very engaging, very dramatic, the themes are so strong. Sopranos is maybe not my most favourite show, but it is hands down the best. The Wire is like top 5ish for me. But I also like the shield, justified. I would put breaking bad as number two if you count breaking bad and better call saul as one show which it should be.
Also the Sopranos is set in the 00s. It's totally believable Tony could've gone to a shrink at that time and it not have gotten him whacked. We're not talking about the mobs of the 80s and 90s here. Gotti was literally dead before the show even finished, and irrelevant by the time it began.

Good arguments here by all of you.
My final vote would have to go to The Sopranos.
Now, let me tell ya a couple three things.
If you want to watch another good series:
Homicide: Life On The Street.
Never got good ratings (this was NBC network TV show). Bad placement - - - on Friday nights I think.
But won multiple Peabody Awards for its writing.
"The George Foster Peabody Awards, named for the American businessman and philanthropist George Peabody, honor the most powerful, enlightening, and invigorating stories in television, radio, and online media."
Many great acting performances also.
One episode ("Three Men and Adena") from the 1st season has been used by law enforcement agencies around the country as training for detectives in interrogation techniques.
The first few seasons were the best, but the "Luther Mahoney" saga in the later seasons was good also.
Highly recommended.
