Wonder how it's going to end up. Late millenials and zoomers should buck the system as much as they can. Especially Zoomers, they got screwed so hard in so many different ways i hope they eventually revolt.

All this grooming chit going on and the adult generation is mostly being silent about it. Letting the govnt and corps prey on the youth before their brain is even developed. Every single issue that plagued Millenials has gotten exponentially worse for Zoomers. And they're being aggresively replaced by illegals.

Hope they burn it all down. Not literally though, especially not my properties.

Some companies overhire but in general its "management " that doesn't actually produce anything but just tells people what to do. The workers actually deliver product.

They cut jobs because the market is grim and they project lower revenue. If that is the case, maybe you shouldn't also be giving massive bonuses to the top at this time. That is all

This. What Marx called capitalism is the natural order of things. It's just what people used to do. They owned stuff and did whatever they wanted with their property. Nobody was a ****hot complaining that other people made money.

OP the owners of this company are apparently ok with the executives doing this, so why do you care? It doesn't concern you at all. If you think you should be telling them what to do with their business, there will be a helicopter ride waiting for you in the near future.

Because I also work in corporate America and if I see this is what companies will do to me, lay me off because business is bad while giving executives many many times my annual salary in bonuses, it makes the system seem rigged and not worth participating in.
And that sentiment spreads in a way that can bring down the system if people stop working and opting out

those are two separate expenditures that don't have anything to do with the other.

executive poaching is a legitimate concern for large companies and if you have top executives that are providing results the shareholders want, it is important to the shareholders to retain leadership.

Money is Money. If the chips are down such that you need to tighten the belt and layoff, it doesn't make sense you would be shelling out massive bonuses at the same time.

Business use these reasons to limit raises and bonuses to the common worker but executives seem to get paid no matter what.

If you're just a ok with all of that you're fuking cuck to the system

Companies definitely overhire for reasons I don't understand.

But you cannot reward massive bonuses to the top while at he time telling the rank and file business is slow and we must lay you off. That makes absolutely zero sense

Nope. And they've done studies on executive compensation and have found that is was value add.

Executives are paid to recognize when it is the appropriate time to tighten belts - it makes sense to reward them for difficult decisions like that.

actually it is usually middle management that makes the lay off call - the executives determine they need to cut departmental budgets and it is usually the easiest for middle managers to trim their extraneous employees

Trust me bro, when I was in corp america....I saw this a lot. The fact that you are leaving out is that the top achievers that were individual contributors were also getting bonuses and incentives at the same time.....very quietly. They use "grim future" as a good reason to get rid of the fat.

If you are a top producer in your field there should be zero concern. In fact I would say, go ahead.....bring me a package. I'll pick up a job in my field with another company within a month with a signing bonus.
Else, go take matter into your own hands and start your own business?

Why sit around and complain if you feel like a sitting duck?

Difficult decision? Probably the easiest thing to do is see that numbers are down and cut people to make the math work . That requires almost zero skill anyone could do that part.

All I know is during the great resignation and business struggling to hire people showed that actual workers matter too. Seems you're one of these nuthuggers that worships the 1%

I don't worship them - but I respect what they have done to get where they are and I don't fall prey to ridiculous concepts like they aren't worth their compensation or that the individual workers are more important than the executives.

The bottom line is - the shareholders own the company and they get to make the decisions.

we'll fire everyone from the jobs that gave them a decent life and they'll go quietly into that good night.

Somehow simultaneously we'll all still have the money consume and fuel the very economy we got fired from. Ok

what they've done to get where they are? For every guy that fought to the top, another just knew somebody or had a connected family or some bullchit. Lol if you actually believe we're in anything like a meritocracy.

I never said executives are never worth the money. But this is such a blatant display of the hazard of our system and you're still defending it lol

This is a ridiculous statement. Often, how they "got there" has little to do with the type of ingenuity that you seem to think is lacking in 99% of the population. It's a combination of massive luck, skill, connections, hard work, and education. The distribution of IQ scores follow a bell curve, yet the distribution of wealth follows the pareto law. Think about that.

The notion thst they are worth that compensation because of the market is a myth you've bought into. Were the Enron execs worth their bonuses because they used clever mark to market accounting procedures and then dumped the stock while their options were hot before bankrupting middle management?

Keep drinking that Kool aid, brah.

There you go......"I heard....people have said"
My perspective is from having to do it and make the call more than a few times. Somewhere in between the rumors and the ultimate action lies the truth in what your "friends" are telling you.
Never about performance? Come on, read that over and over again and see how ludicrous and emotional that sounds.

My experience in corp america has typically been that upper management passed down to me a number that needed to be cut and it was either completely my decision or it was co-guided.
In most cases it was pretty clear cut who the top performers were from the bottom.
In one case all my team were rock stars (designed that way.....already moved the under performers out) and I made the case to upper management and I was able to keep everyone.

I am not saying this is how it always is.....but that was my experience which is different from what your friends told you.

But if you haven taken the advice of your "past managers" about taking it easy for said reasons.....then yes that will show pretty easily and I can see how someone like that would be on the bottom of my list even if they were marginally out producing someone that was trying hard. I can coach and skill up someone. I dont have the time to fix lazy and negative in a fast moving world.
