They want to normalize UBI.

This is a clever way of doing it.

The day people give up their ability of self reliance is the day they become slaves.

The money is coming from a budget surplus that California accrued in FY2021

and yeah I know its from being overtaxed, point is, Newsom isn't just printing the money out of thin air.

I got $1700 "inflation relief" from Maine but some tell me it was actually tax surplus being returned or something

And it will hurt the rest of the nation more than California.

Absolute wreck-less leadership.

Too fukking bad. Fed's crying about leadership and over spending is hilariously rich.

Imagine making the case that people shouldn't have their own money returned to them because scrubs in red states think it will cause inflation.

Just fuking lol

That's basically what we're going to receive here in California. It's no different than than the people who think they're getting "free money" at tax time when it's simply because they don't know how to set up their paychecks to remove as little as possible.

Newsom is just calling it "gas relief" and timing the dispersal conveniently a month before the midterms for brownie points.

Would you like for me to break down to you exactly how California got that surplus?

It will make your post here look pretty embarrassing….

You'd be wasting time - just let him make his "intellectual" posts and have him move on.

He eventually gets bored when no one takes him serious again and he almost always makes a fool of himself on his own.

I'd read the breakdown.

Especially if you include what's so significant (per Capita) about CA compared to all the other states giving refunds or handouts.

People are triggered by that state but it seems most would agree that this kind of thing is best handled at that level than the fed gov swooping in and "rescuing" everyone.

Was reading that this appears to be the California governors opening move to declare his run for the Presidency.
