You went at "rush hour" ,admittedly and do not know what normally goes on then.
When you go at the same time, you pretty much know who does what( like film) and you just walk around them.
It takes no effort and would just be a normal thing to observe; the same way you see the tourists posing with their big Nikon cameras and you step back.
