Have all respect for any person serving in the military.

But like any job, it has to be hard to find people to basically sign their lives over for a period of years nowadays, no matter what the pay or benefits are.

Fuk yes they are. I've known a few. I was playing Warzone quads the other night and dropped in with 3 including a female that was military. She was such a fuking attention whore and they other 2 were eating it up, it was pathetic.

It's the easiest time for any branch in a while, recruiting goals across all military branches aren't being met. And don't worry, you don't need to be smart for the air force, the minimum scores are only a few points higher than the other branches. It's like needing a D+ instead of a D on a test.
I feel like the military would hold me back potential wise though. That's 4 years of dedication and I'm nearly 32. Unless I can come out with a $200k salary job, then you have my attention.

Well chit if you're gonna have a 200k a year job in the next 4 years then yes don't join the military. If you think you'll be a broke loser 4 years from now, then joining the AF/any other branch in some kind of tech job that gets you a top secret clearance, would get you close to six figures or more when you get out in 4 years. If you can finish a degree in that time frame while in the military, then thats even better for potential civilian employers.

No I'm meaning leaving the military with a nice job. I already have an Associates degree. Would also give me the opportunity to travel the globe from what it looks like.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. 4 years in the air force in some cyber job with a top secret security clearance will open you up for higher paying jobs once you leave. Plus you have tuition assistance in the military so you can finish out your bachelor's in your down time. Then you'll have the experience, the security clearance and a degree which would set you up nicely for a civilian job when you get out. On top of that you have the free housing, food and healthcare and can save your money/ build your credit while youre in. So unless you see yourself matching/ exceeding those accomplishments in the next 4 years outside of the military, then it could be a legit option for you.

Then they make it harder to join. Its not believable to think with people out of work that they are not looking to the military for work. of course they are as they always do it tough economies.

What this loosening up stuff is is just a way to get more oddballs and weirdos in the service or at least applying to get in. That way they can put them on tv to push their agenda.

Its like when burger king puts out that sign saying $25 an hour to flip burgers. Tons of people should have those jobs but for some strange reason, no one knows anyone making remotely near that amount.
I think it's the complete opposite. The last few years, even before covid the attrition rate has been horrible, specifically in the Army. The younger generation is less prone to want to enlist, due to way more opportunities in the civilian world. These shortage of Soldiers was bound to happen for some time now, before Biden even took office. (Ded fkn Srs)
