I’d say the same thing, it sounds more like a private school and wouldn’t ever expect anything on that level from a public school. Interesting spots we’re actually sold.

Both my kids (ages 4 and 18 years) attend public school, but both are in special education. So their program isn’t the same as general ed.

No clue, it seems like its an org ran by parents to raise money for the school. No clue what it gets spent on however as my kids arent in high school yet.
Our school does thoe fund raisers and such and now that I think of it......i now recall one of the fathers of my kid's friend (the one that invited us to his 8 year old daughters bday party in Vegas - that was a crazy experience in of itself) donated $5k to some fund raiser and in return his daughter got to be "gym teacher" for the day. Dont know where that money goes either but seriously wth.

When I was a kid, parking in high school was free, but Seniors could “reserve” a spot for $100 which also allowed you to paint it however you wanted. So a week or so before senior year would be this big parking lot painting day where people would come and paint and decorate their spots.

Out of the hundreds of student cars in the parking lot at my school, I could count on my fingers how many were over 10k in value

I'm all about mogging and capitalism but this is just sad as fuq.

Rent-a-cop guy would stroll through our parking lot cause it was near the teachers' lot. They never did the back lot. Never had **** done to my car in the paid but my friends in the free zone got **** taken out of their cars.

That's freaking insane! My son went to private school and I don't think they charged for parking spaces. If they did it wasn't much.

ETA: I stand corrected. It was under a $100 for a full school year and they got assigned spots. All his friends parked near each other.

I grew up fairly upper middle class. I could choose my car for the day, a Jaguar coupe, Mercedes SUV or Mercedes sedan (all new at the time). Other students had nice cars as well, BMWs were all over the lot. We never had to pay for a spot though. I guess schools are just looking for more ways to overpay unnecessary administrators.

My friends ended up being people who didn’t have nice cars back then. Most of them are doing well now, better than many in my high school who were flexing their parents wealth. Including me. When I think about it now, it's embarrassing and cringe to flex something you did not earn.

Probably the biggest status achievement is where one goes to undergrad, so how successful HS is.

People are ****ing LAZY and DUMB.

Go to a Home Depot or target front section of the parking lot will be full of people walking, loading cars shyt everywhere and folks will still go through the hassle to park there instead of the back lot with no one around and easy in and out access. All to save a couple of steps.
