Dated a Chinese student girl that was only here about 6 months at the time. English was not the greatest during our first date, but she was hot and sweet so I stuck with it. She was a real quick learner with the language though. She got noticeable better every week. A few months in, she spoke English better than >75% of Americans. If she didn't know a word, she asked for a definition and would never forget a word that I explained to her.

The Korean that I was with was probably a 6/10 speaker, and some people had trouble understanding her with the thick accent, but I understood her perfectly. She said that I was special to her because I could understand her bad English when no one else could. I think a great connection between people can overcome some language issues.

Both would be shy about speaking around others sometimes though. They liked for me to order for them at restaurants, speak for them when needing help at a store, etc. I wish that poor speaking Americans were as self conscience about their poor grammar and language skills as some immigrants.

Do not regret being with either of them.
