It is and gas is $5.85 a Gallon. That's why I'm stoked just to be paying 2500. Also average price for a house here is a million dollars. No thx Jeff.

yeah, but its Louisisna.

You know a state has problems when they pay people to move there. The entire state is literally sinking into the Gulf. They bury their dead above ground because the land is so swampy it just pushes the caskets up out of the ground.

The weather phuckin sucks. You walk outside at 7am in the morning and you're immediately soaking wet due to humidity. They've got insects the size of dinner plates, summer is like living through biblical plagues there's so many mosquitoes and gadflys, oh and did I mention alligators? yeah, they've got those too. The roads suck. half the roads you drive on in residential areas are basically gravel. The French Quarters is the only thing the state has going for itself, but even thats been infiltrated by ****g0ts, and sure California has ****g0ts too, but at least its offset by the nice weather, good beaches and enough space to get away from them if you don't want to see their escapades.

Cot damn. Ever been to Arkansas? My wife spent time there as a teenager in a small town and I have a hard time figuring out if she was exaggerating about it but sounds similar + a healthy dose of backwardness but a chit ton of nature, minus the crocs.

I realized it was because the state was ****ty, but damn...that's fookin brutal haha. Have never been and probably won't ever go now. I'd rather live downtown NY in a closet than live somewhere like that.

Yeah, I've been to Arkansas, and honestly its "fine" its just borning. Nothing really happens there.

but louisiana? Its actually painful to live there. Even though its a red state its got all the typical problems of a blue state with none of the benefits.

My experience of living there comes from vacationing there for 3 weeks to visit relatives. I got to experience all that chit in the short time I was there it was absolutely miserable, and btw my experience was pre-Katrina (about 2002) so I guarantee its much WORSE now.

Are you from Hawaii or there for work? Sounds like a pretty good price to live in paradise.

I'd gladly pay an extra.15k a year to live in Hawaii over NY.

Also if your mortgage only 1k, you live in a dump.

Really? When I was in Kihei this spring it seemed like zero houses for under $1M and most average houses were around $2M, and any decent condo or apartment was over $1M.

The condos we were looking at were $2.5M for 2 bed / 2 bath and 1000sf.
