If you and your friends’ marriages are good then that’s great. The fact that you’re annoyed by this thread and going the ad hominem route is the kind of thing women do. You’re so transparently in your feelings right now.

It's incredibly simple, but marry someone that makes you laugh and is great in bed. The rest is just details you can work through.

Ask yourself this question. If it were a proven fact that only (or even mostly) men who get divorced are trashy people, would that excite you or disappoint you? You want to believe that people who get divorced are trashy because you can’t see how that wouldn’t be the case. But I see quite the opposite all the time and there are so many stats out there to disprove your desired explanation.
If you say that you’re happily married then I believe you and am actually happy to hear that that’s the case. Just seems like you threw up an unwarranted generalization based on what you’d like to be the case.
My older brother is a model citizen, devout Christian, successful, etc and he came razor thin close to getting a divorce and it wasn’t because he was a trashy person. I know you’re gonna say “Well then he saved his marriage because he wasn’t trashy.” That’s a really thin line you’re drawing between being a good or trashy person.

I don't think anyone's revelling in the divorce rates of their friends, they're just pointing out the indicators

How does this tie in to being a trashy person? Maybe if the reasoning for bad finances was drug abuse or whatever, then I can see that. But this data doesn’t really seem to back up the theory that people who get divorced are “trashy”

I didn’t make this thread because I wanted to hear a bunch of stories similar to my own. It’s actually quite refreshing. Gives me hope that maybe marriage could still be in my future. I don’t desire a hedonistic lifestyle and see life without a family as disappointing and unfulfilling. Just not ecstatic about the risks.

Your urge to label him and other divorced people as trashy is ridiculous.
I’m guessing Johnny Depp is a trashy person for divorcing Amber Heard going by your brilliant logic.
Maybe you’re the one that’s trashy. Oh but you’re a married man so that’s impossible, right? Your replies in this thread are nothing short of laughable. If you’re just trolling then that’s funny and you succeeded but unlikely.
You’re telling me there’s nothing your wife could do to you that would make you divorce her since you made your vows before God never to do that? Lol.

And both financial issues and incompatibility both tie back to lack of communication.

Just look at the stats.
Around 50% ends in a divorce, so it's quite normal you see this OP.

50% is all marriages. Only about 1/3 of first marriages fail. The total is pulled up by the actual trashy people who are married and divorced 5 times.

The 'abuse' you mentioned is a symptom of depression - another disease.
Would it be okay to divorce her if she got Cancer?
The whole point of marriage and taking vows is to work through these endeavours -for better and for worse- and to not throw the towel in at the first signs of the going getting rough.
The only demographic who seem to take marriage seriously these days are Muslims.

tin foil hat time: I hope someone actually reads this reply: I've been analyzing and thinking on this a while.
the hidden group, the tribe, the globohomers are moving the cog wheels faster than ever. I started noticing my friends wife's cheating on them starting in the late fall of last year, (four separate couples i know). Through the summer I saw three more divorces and more cheating by women. My speculation is, ((they've)) ramped up mind control to women and it's working maybe they turned something on , on social media/tv? something is happening and it's not organic. it's all planned
the majority of mind control (live your best life, be a whore, dont be stay at home mom) is all focused at white women mostly and it's working wonderfully

Just LMAO at people who have to cope that they will never get married - not by choice.
Only people who trash married people are the one's not married. I never hear people complain about their marriage; but only small annoyances about their partner (which is expected in any relationship).

Been with my GF 10 years. I don't plan to ask anytime in the next year or so. Not because I don't love her but we just still have alot of life stuff left to do: buy our own house, travel a ton more, maybe have a kid? etc
Can confirm have seen many people from my age group get married, have kids and get divorced all in the time or less than I've been with my girl. So definitely glad we haven't done that yet.
