My friends s209 is insane tho. He has over 70k in parts invested into it.. it’s an absolute menace. He just finally finished it and took to subie fest.

Subaru has some fun cars to play with. Really cool to see how the car world has expanded over the last 30 years. Enthusiast world that is. So many great platforms to play with and it makes for a very diverse community. Although I do like 'exotics', I am not the type that 'looks down' at other cars. In fact I often find myself talking to a younger guy at a meet and listening to him tell me about the mods to his car. Went to a meet this morning and kid was telling me all about the 86/BRZ platform. Cool cars there too! I just find I enjoy car people and the variety of interests. With unlimited time, I would probably find myself with one of everything. But sadly we all have budgets. Both time and money. I have dreams of designing my own car from the ground up. Had them since I was younger. But it is probably something that will stay a dream. It is really nice to get in a car that is incredibly engineered and just enjoy it. To me that Lambo fills that niche. (of course adding a super charger and exhaust does not hurt). But the Lotus is the car I will dive into every depth of. I have a spare motor and trans for it. Doing a high-boost build this winter and building the trans to handle the power. That is truly where I get more satisfaction. Add to that, teaching my son and the great moments you can bond over as you are cursing from bashing your knuckles and life is good! Worse things that I could be doing!
Not many people know what Work wheels are in the US. But certainly have a cult following in the US. Very few outfits where you can get custom made 4x100 wheelsYou cant exactly buy an 11" wide wheel 4x100 'off the shelf'!
As a younger kid (Im 49 now) I used to live the wide body RX-7's etc back in the day. The lotus for me is like a twisted combination of what my dream car would have been at 15 mixed with a car that is non-compromising in form/function and nothing is on the car that does not make it go fast and turn. It is a completely impractical car that most Lotus die-hards would call blasphemy. But the only thing worse than Porsche owners are Lotus ownersWAY too many stuffy snobby people with matching hats and t-shirts. But there are good people too, but the car community is a funny one. I just like all types of cars and guys who enjoy working on them regardless what the price of the car is.
