This might have been the case for kids from the late 90s and early 2000s but nowadays, kids don't socialize. Many students were happy to finish school at home due to their undeveloped social skills. They would rather hide at home than be forced to interact with others.

Can’t imagine having 2+ years of college taken like that. Peak do whatever years, sleep around, party, learn about yourself. Also peak hours after college to travel, get a career and learn from it, go to new city, etc
