if this is true, then the girlfriend gets some of the blame. Not in a "victim blaming" sort of way, but in a "you touch a hot stove you're going to get burnt" sort of way.

My friend's son tried to save a chick from DV at a gas station a dozen or so years ago and the guy beat him up while the chick encouraged him.

We don't do those. Honestly, with the employee shortage we have been hiring whoever shows up.

We have guys with rough pasts, and we were aware of some juvenile stuff, but the recent stuff was all kept from us.

Local guy, knows the area, can drive boats without hitting rocks. Works hard...valuable to us

Yeah and a lot of time guys are on drugs so good luck winning a fight. I always told people in BJJ that if someone wants to fight you assume they are armed on drugs and have friends. IOTW get out of dodge and start shooting if you must.

I can't remember, but I think the guy had a couple friends around too (I believe what actually happened was they followed him to the gas station and fought him there after he broke up the DV fight). So he may have gotten jumped with the chick there encouraging it.

I was once called a coward because I would not help a woman getting beat up by an SO, but it's just not worth it. If it looks like he may kill her I may call the police and that's it. My mom had to do that once but that's OK because she's a woman.

I knew that you were remote and my initial comment was just my normal sarcasm. We did an analysis of the uranium supply chain for nuclear fuel that included the Maclean and Cigar Lake operations. Heard horror stories about hiring locals from the management that we interviewed...
