Looking for a new TV myself and OLED is unfortely out due to low peak nit ratings. Unfortunately Sony dropped the ball with their first crack at MiniLED this year and although I may grab a X95 it's somewhat underwhelming from a company who usually makes great sete. Waiting on ratings for new Hisense and TCL MiniLEDs releasing now, bot have promise and are cheap enough to trash in a year or two when Sony gets the tech performing as good as their OLEDs.

Hate ot break it to ya, but you'd be much better with MiniLED in a room with that much natural light .
I’m going to get these covers that roll down behind the blinds . Already have one on the front window , but don’t use it since I moved the tv , as it’s in the wrong location now

I have an LG OLED in the living room, but for the reasons mgftp mentioned above I got the Alienware QD OLED for my gaming setup. And in those conditions, I'd argue is actually much better than the LG OLED.

So, whynotboth?.gif in a sense. But OLED is just so hnnngh.

I also wish the PG32UQX had been a lot better than it is, especially for 3k.

Pretty much a myth now, I had a 65 C7, which is a bunch of years back, I used to game on it all day, then netflix, then I left it at one of my airbnbs, where people would abuse it and still no burn in after 4 years. Until one ******* stole it, luckily airbnb paid for a new one, got a 65 C1, and put some **** TLC in the airbnb now.

My point is burn it pretty much non existent on the new models.

So streaming 4K isnt as good as 4K organically via disc/blu-ray player?

Whats different? Still should be the same display ratio and refresh rate..?

i have some 4k remuxes on my SSDs and cant find a way to stream it. cant even play it via ps5/xbox or connected to TV. some of these are like 70+GB MKV files idk what fukin setup you have to be able to stream that seamlessly to a living room TV.

4k disc is still superior than streaming hbo/netflix/apple just for the simple fact it plays at much higher bitrate, and you get like the master audio whereas apple tv gives you chit compressed audio, etc. it's quite easy to tell the difference in video clarity and audio when going from apple tv to 4k disc.

i'm selective on what discs I actually buy. only my absolute favorites do I bother buying the disc and only if they are 4k native transfers. so that limits the market a lot.

been wanting to pick up top gun maverick.

Damn didnt realize so many brahs collect physical media on misc. Got 100+ 4k physical movies as well as around 200 digital 4k movies. I don't spend the extra money for physical discs for movies i don't plan on watching often.

Have 65 inch b2 lg oled and a 100 inch screen 4k projector, xbox series x and ps5.

I think there’s a good argument for still buying the discs to this day. One is the quality, and two is you own the damn movie. And also there is some resale value even if minimal.

Can’t count the amount of times I wanted to watch something on Netflix that was there a month ago and no longer is due to contract expirations etc.

Yeah it takes longer and more energy to physically get up and put on a disc but getting perfect quality content no matter your connection speed or subscription tier is worth it to some.

Yeah, OLED is truly a game changer. Going from LED to OLED felt like going from SD to HD, and the best thing is that it makes everything look better.
