America is a phucking chithole country with the worst culture on earth. A perfect example of a place that used to be great, that now sucks. If you travel the world you quickly realize how foreign cultures absolutely mog American culture these days.

You might be right. What state are you in though?

I'm in Texas and don't love much about the culture besides the relative freedoms. Maybe other states are better but not sure

Sounds like you haven't met many western europeans. They aren't eastern european types that live in poverty, their lives are comfortable. If anything they think America is gross and dangerous.

I was thinking of going on a solo trip for my birthday. Was thinking Costa Rica or Brazil. I've been to Ireland, Germany, and Austria and wasn't blown away, but Italy and the Mediterranean may be the way to go. I'm half Italian and the only person in my family who hasn't gone there. But I always thought Europe was overrated based on my experiences. Maybe not...

It's a chithole and I hate it here. A completely overrated place, and the people suck.

Keep in mind how I have also always lived in the nicest parts of the state as well.

no, I predominantly meant Western Euros. Eastern Euros have a better chance of staying in their homelands but no American wants to live there.

Been around SD a lot as well when I was in college and out of college, had some buddies living there as well as some relatives. It's okay, not the best area in California and you are really close to Mexico, like literally right on the border with all the drawbacks that come from that.

Honestly, it is a bit of confirmation bias but a non-degenerate American has it better on average (socioeconomically). Although, if you value the being a laidback farmer in Italy (which is a tough job) there Euro does have this "qualitative" factor in its culture, Geezers jumps the gun a bit here.

The factors that make America in terms of its attitude having a worse off vibe that directly correlate with OP's experience is:

a) Women -> Euro women are catching up but even the most developed nations outside USA are not as fat as USA. That is because Big Foot manufacturers, and most corporate in general, has a lot of loose regulations and lobbying power and lots of **** is too addicting and sugary. One of my colleagues (he is born and raised in London) told me when he visited USA he thought the bread is almost as sweet as Euro cake. Big Western European has more regulation (which in turn has its own downsides but again different strokes for different goats).

b) He visited nice niche tourist areas where most of the jobs are in tourism (and locals own farmlands, restaurants) so it is not like anyone can just move (assuming you are not just rich and just hang around there). That, bechmarked against the US during a time of societal collapse due to it being a melting pot of ethnicities who do not like each other, which inevitably will make everyone more entitled/snaky, can be, indeed, an experience.

lol wrong.

The average Eurocel lives a mediocre life lacking any ambition for upwards socioeconomic mobility because guess what? the bureaucratic nightmare in their countries bury them in a mountain of fees and taxes to pay before they even get a business off the ground.

For the rest of 9-5cels it's all about coping with their idyllic lives while living paycheck to paycheck, never owning a car, owning a home is a pipedream, so it's renting a shoebox without a washing/drying machine or sometimes even AC unit.

It's a facade really, people that go take their selfie in front of the Colosseum, eat the pasta and drink the wine have no fuking clue.

I just got back too and can confirm. Average Italians are definitely poorer than average Americans but their quality of life is so much better. Emphasis on community and family, and not so much on materialism. Plus the average attractiveness is significantly higher than Americans. Just avoid Naples where Africans took over.

Lol @ idiots here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...ult#By_country

Most Americans don't own a home, while the average swede as a home in Italy and in Spain. Americans can be delusional like this sometimes. They act like because Europeans generally don't have a Steve Jobs or Bill Gates type wealth, that the average European lives worse than Americans lol.

https://worldpopulationreview.com/co...ita-by-country

"Lack of ambition" is true, but you don't need to when you can work part time at a grocery store and still buy an apartment or have money to travel. You work part time in a US, you need 3 roommates.

And I do believe US socioeconomically base case is better. But that is debatable as it has disadvantages, depending on which country specifically you are comparing it to.

Like for example, most of you morons bundle EU countries as whole - everything varies.
