When you have clinical depression, especially Major Depression Disorder or Bipolar (on the depression side), it's hard to get out of bed, to shower, brush your teeth--you lose the motivation to do anything. Your head is in a cloud so it's hard to talk or think. Therapy and medication help with this.
And this is why you don't listen to women.

It's hard. Can't even get out of bed. Take some drugs. Talk to some ph@ggot about your feelings. Cry like a pussy.

Be a man and take action to fix your situation.
A young bull and an old bull were standing atop a hill looking at a bunch of heifers in a field below.

The young bull says "Let's run down this hill and fuk one of those heifers."

The old bull replies "No. Let's walk down there, and fuk them all."

You can recover from depression and cancer. My depression has improved since my daughter got out of the teenage rebel against mother stage and now we're good friends again. But it's not completely gone. I also take an SSRI and go to therapy.

It just has such a stigma in our society that isn't fair. People who don't have depression or anxiety don't understand how it cripples you.

My anxiety is so severe without medication that I'm basically bedridden with severe chest and stomach pain, along with burning skin and flu-like symptoms. When I stand up the pain is worse. It's pure hell on earth and it's been like this since 2001.

Yeah "man up". Many men "man up" by drinking and squashing their problems down deep. Some problems you cannot fix, like when men have to pay alimony for 25 years and child support after their wife leaves them for another man. If he was already biologically susceptible to depression, then he's going to feel it.

I personally like Jordan Peterson's advice better.

Something to the effect of, "Whether you want to admit it or not, in the game of life, you're all in. So stop lying to yourself and stop wasting time on stuff that doesn't matter and go out and do the most good you can for yourself."

SSRI's are pure poison serious. Look up PSSD.

Yes your anxiety is the cause of your physical symptoms, your state of mind is causing you this "depression"

watch this:

Another interesting observation is the fact many "depressed" people cling onto why X makes them so depressed, it's like they're defending the thing that destroys their life. Because if you tell them they can change, it's like taking away their shield, now they are responsible for how they feel.

Agree 100%. I’ve been depressed for long periods of time where all I wanted to do was rope. But I know for a fact it was a state of mind and not some crazy disease. A lot of people just tell themselves it’s a disease that way they are removing themselves from being at fault.

My depression is literally caused by being around weak dudes lol. So it's environment based. It's not much of a brain chemistry thing

How can a "state of mind" just appear out of the blue in 2001? It happened when they released me from the eating disorder hospital. I had obviously been self-medicating my anxiety with the eating disorder and once they took that way the anxiety emerged out of the blue and occurred 24/7.

I'm an extreme perfectionist so that made me an A student but any mistake made at work creates a lot of anxiety and pressure. Plus there were some other reasons that lead to that. I work on that in therapy so I can accept that it's OK to make some mistakes and not beat myself up if I do.

But my Grandma was an extreme perfectionist/top student in her class at Berkeley who also had anxiety. My Mom didn't get anxiety and depression. So it obviously was inherited to a degree.

It's biological and environmental.

How or when your anxiety (aka state of mind) emerged doesn't matter, the only thing you need to know is that you have the power to change it without pills.

And sure your state of mind is influenced by your environment, experiences, etc. This will have an impact on your biological system.

Think about the placebo effect. Do you know how strongly the mind can impact our body? Again look up Joe Dispenza, he explains it all backed up by scientific studies.

And stop taking away your own power with false beliefs that it's out of your hands, it's not.

I eat healthy food--mostly organic and plant-based. I gained 50 lbs on another psych med that isn't an SSRI but it's shown to gain weight as a side effect. Now I'm trying a med that supposedly helps lose the weight from this psych med based on recent research by my psychiatrist. I've already noticed a decrease in appetite by 500 calories a day in the last 2 days.

Life events aren't totally within your hands. Brain chemistry isn't totally in your hands. My depression and anxiety decreased because my daughter became more mature and now we are friends again. I couldn't control that. Other mothers told me to hang in there until she became a junior in high school a that's when things get better with mother and daughter.

But also I started to do outside activities with my adventure club and that helped improve my depression. Before I signed up for those activities I'd spend most of my weekend in bed sleeping. So yes, there are some things under your control and other things that aren't.

You're like 1000 years old so you've probably been trying these stupid bullsh!t medication cycles for centuries. It's just not working. 50 lbs is a preposterously obese amount of weight to gain, it's over for your arteries and you 100% have stretch marks now.

No I didn't try this particular medication for anxiety until 2019 and that's when I gained 50 lbs in one year.

You have to remember I looked like this in 2000:

And that was about 50 lbs less so I've gained about 100 lbs. They had me gain 50 lbs in 3 months in the eating disorder hospital when I looked like that.

It's going to be a long haul to even lose 50 lbs. Sigh.

Sure not everything is in your control but how you think (aka state of mind) is, you reaction to what happens around you is in your control and your reaction is what ultimately makes you "depressed" or not.

As they state in my Dialectical Behavioral Therapy groups, mental issues are environmental and biological. Environmental could be childhood abuse and biological could be if a relative had depression.

But yes a positive state of mind helps. My aunt is always so positive and happy even under the worst circumstances, like she's in the hospital now after falling and being without food and water for 3 days. I'm taking care of her house and I'm her advocate. I wish I had her outlook on life!

That hasn't negatively affected my dating life. When I was 75 lbs less 10 years ago I attracted similar type of men. As shown on here, some men are HTC.
