I really like the last paragraph that you shared about men having honor groups. That is a very old tribal sort of concept that seems to have been sadly lost in most places.

I think that the damage we are seeing from boys being raised by single moms might be lessened if there were still these masculine honor groups taking an interest in the boys and young men in a community; providing some guidance and setting expectations around what it means to be a man of honor.
The only modern thing that could be an honor group I can think of are sports teams and clubs. Kids and boys need to learn sports and athletics for so many reasons.

Agreed. The erosion of family bonds has been detrimental enough, but when you add in the lessening of communal bonds through various avenues and it’s a recipe for even faster societal shifts, and the shifts aren’t good.

If you have a solid starting point you can go back pretty far in most cases. Might take some detective work and time, but everything has been pretty well documented through court records(like marriage licenses, land purchases, obituaries, etc.) You might run into issues if a direct line leads to someone who moved away randomly or there are other things making it difficult to track, but even then you could probably do it. One thing to note though is that you shouldn’t just accept things on online genealogy sites. Sure a lot of it is accurate so you can use it as a starting point, but I would verify anything you find if possible. With the internet there has been a huge jump in people wanting to get into general…and while that is good in a lot of ways, there are also people who will just put down anything that sounds right or what they think is right. So there could be some misleading stuff, but again a lot of it is accurate so from that aspect it can make it easier to connect the dots.

I don't think the number of people with Scotch-Irish ancestry is going down, it's just that information is lost over generations and a lot of people don't know the ethnicity of their great-grandparents.

Scots Irish are invaders who went to Ireland to rape and steal with that nonce cromwell. Irish should have dealt with them same way the ukrainians are dealing with the ruzzian invaders.
