But it was the last generation to live without the internet. In fact, my generation grew up without it and got it in late teens/adulthood. I guess you could say we were the last generation of “explorers”.

i think a lot of miscers struggle with the fact that quality of life generally degenerates as you get older. maybe it isn't the world around you that sucks? maybe the clown kids are having a good time and you're not and you're jelly?

In b4 it’s quicker at the hotel. Are the 5-10 minutes it takes you to travel to a gym close by really that critical? And it would actually save you time once there because you’re not trying to rig up some weird luggage weights.

I was the last to live without social media/smartphones...which is the real cancer to society. Myspace came out when I was a freshman and I believe ******** came out as a junior. Playing outside or doing literally anything else was more fun though. Not to mention you'd need a computer or laptop to get on the internet. These kids don't stand a chance these days and for the life of me I can't understand why they're given phones so early.

The 90s and early 2000s were the GOAT times. The music was amazing with real instruments unlike what we have now, great movies, people actually socialized and didn’t stare at their phones all day and people were just plain nicer.

Well said. But my examples are of people I meet at the gym/shop/venue etc. That's the issue, the clowns I meet everyday are bugging me with the aforementioned listed issues. (I travel a lot) That's why I'm enquiring on a fitness forum since fitness guys are usually higher up on the chain. As opposed to another board with a guy who enters code as a hobby and is 35%bf who definitely wouldn't have a clue about this 2012/2013 shift. People I meet haven't got a clue when I mention pre 2011 culture, by the way, the conversation was killed long before it started because of their ***gy awkward appearance.

Missed this gem of a post earlier. I have similar thoughts when I see miscers complaining about broccoli heads and shorts or kids taking selfies in the gym. Maybe they're just enjoying their youth and making gains. At least they're doing something constructive.

Sometimes I can't tell whether these are O35 section posts with how much they complain about Zoomer trends. We're not old enough to be acting disconnected from the youth.

A similar thing when people were going on about hair stripes (prime 2000s design). I saw people say they'd "die" in that era, as if less personal technology is a hardship. There was a picture of a bodybuilder with a telephone taped to his head and man were the comments surprising. Basically saying pre 2005 was a caveman era.

Everyone was serious. No these just aren't youngsters being retards, it's even the 20-30+ people talking all braindead. Saying "I don't know how I survived" as if there was a war going on.

I dunno, you just have to read the way people write it. Reading the responses on comments happily agreeing just pieces it together, man is it shocking.

I don't know who that is but when I talk to people aged 20-30 they just don't know anything. 30-40+ just talk about the weather and when I pick their brain on topics they just play the old card. you will also realize as you get older people will do these 2 things often:

1) check out from any reality beyond their own, so they stop learning or having anything interesting to talk about outside their bubble
2) they dont want to talk to people outside of their bubble they created and its uncomfortable now because they have lived only within their safe bubble for years now

these are fine options, as we develop the life we want to live and then we can choose to enjoy it the way we want until we die, there is nothing else this world has to offer anyways besides just having a good time and experiencing what you WANT to experience.

from school age to entering the workforce you are forced to be more social and build skills and learn all sorts of things, but once you get into your set career, your house, your family, etc.... you no longer have any need to branch out

so thats why 30s - 40s people become dramatically more boring

then 40 and beyond people get fully invested in parenting and 50 beyond they start dying/facing mortality/retirement

But yeah, he ruined humanity. Not to say that touchscreen phones wouldn't have eventually been a thing (I'm sure some Japanese touch screen technology was already out), but yeah, he unintentionally ruined us. I doubt he envisioned the damn robot like people in 2022 on phones for 12+ hours a day.

I was back in my hometown for a good friends wedding. The wedding doubled as sort of a bro-reunion for many of us, as we were all friends/acquaintances and now we're all scattered around the USA and haven't been in the same room since like 2006.

We reminisced about high school years and college. It was a unanimous, we were ALL thankful that no video or social media evidence exists for all the **** we did. Sex, saying non-clownworld approved things, racist/sexist jokes, making fun of ****g0ts... Just great memories and nothing that someone else can hold against us.

Kids growing up now are ****ed. Rewind like 12 years ago - most people didn't have smartphones. Now literally everyone does, all all those pics, videos, etc aresomewhere.

Atleast my roles models and the people around me were still cool/prevalent when I was growing up. Now would be so unlucky to be born. A random person in your typical village and all the people in the spotlight are morons and just plain freaks. None of this trash would've passed in the 2000s.
