I didn’t go for any cleanings for over 6 years and went in for a cleaning. Dentist said they look great and cleaning was simple. Fkn lol at dirty teethcels

Theoretically, from my knowledge (I AM NOT a dentist, which are much more knowledgeable), if you have NO cavities and no periodontal disease and efficiently remove all plaque every 12 hours, you would never need to see a dental professional unless some rare dental anamoly occurs (cysts, infections, random disease from the body or genes). However, the likelihood of removing 100% of plaque every day seems unlikely. It makes more sense to have routine check ups.


***Assuming you have a good diet, normal dental tissue development and are healthy (bodily). The water flosser is just a good tool to remove plaque, especially for people with a deep sulcus (pocket between the gums and tooth)

OP doesn't floss. If you did, you wouldn't really need any cleaning.

I recently had a deep clean at the dentist. Was fkn brutal. Was just expecting a normal clean.

Dentists are similar to lawyers, they charge you whatever they feel like because they know you are desperate. Maybe you weren’t desperate OP but normally most people only go to the dentist when they are in a lot of pain.

Regular cleanings are usually covered under insurance. deep cleaning is covered at a lesser percent so you have to pay more out of pocket.

Good thing id you dont need them all the time unless you dont do the regular ones for a long time. They are pretty aggresive but you should get over it.
