Completely stepping aside from this incident and looking at the perception of cops as a whole, I think we've reached a point that young adults growing up are absolutely terrified of cops due to all the negative publicity they've gotten on the internet over the past15 years or so. His reaction to run seemed instinctual (like the urge to run from a bear or mountain lion).

Suspected for what? He made it up and didn’t even run plates. The two people were just eating burgers in their car.

The fat pig cop made up a reason to approach the car in the first place. There was nothing suspect about it. The pig was delusional.

Then the pig opened the door, failed to identify themselves and opened fire on someone startled after barking an order.

Sorry, this cop should be jailed for an attempted murder of two people.

I didn't even watch the video.

If this is the case, bad parenting, participation trophies, and the media are to blame.

I did see a headline during the week that a college freshman said they weren't prepared for freshman year in college. It was too overwhelming.

Im usuaully equally skeptical of both police and low level scum of society but in this case the police way out of line. No time for this kid to even react or comply. How tf are you suppose to know some nutcase opening your door is a police officer, or believe them if they say so?

So now every car jacker can just say im a cop bro and open your door and you cant do ****. makes no sense.

Run the plates. If theres probable cause, pull them over with lights officially, present a badge, etc. If you fail to comply or run at that point idc if you get shot (srs) but this is ridiculous

You think it was too dark to tell that a police officer was telling him to get out? Cop uniforms tend to be pretty visible. He looked right at the police officer and put the car in reverse, I wonder why. And I wonder how a 17-year old hombre who flashes gang signs has all that money and nice cars.

So the cop just thought this car fled from him the night before. Can't imagine it's justified to go up to it and open the door like that.
