Sales Engineering is a great job if you're genuinely interested in solving people's problems, personable, and have a breadth of technical knowledge. It's not as high pressure as pure sales but you help support the sales team. I am 75/25 base/commission but if we hit our forecast of course we get other bonuses, etc.
