-dinged a mercedez one and waited for about 10 minutes till some rich white lady came. told her i hit her bumper. she couldn't find the scratch so she let me go.

-scratched some lexus suv. middle aged paki guy. saw the mark but let me go too.

-hit some honda odyssey in a grocery store parking lot. had to wait half an hour till some chinese family arrived, they asked me how much it cost to fix, i said a few hundred bucks so they said i could just give that to them. the mom hugged me.

-got into a fender bender with some persian wannabe gangster in a timmy's parking lot. neither of us really knew whose fault it was. but he kept trying to make me pay cash. suspected why immediately. told the kunt we'll take it to insurance. and he was "kind" enough to let me go.

-when i first started driving, i hit some corolla ****box while parking. dented his bumper badly. but i drove off. was a broke teen driving my dad's car. if he found out, he would have made my life hell for the whole summer.

I'm mind-blown at how many miscers itt apparently don't have the balls to file an insurance claim when people fukkk up their vehicles.

I've had to do it twice in the past year. The process sucks total assss, but it is what it is, and I'm not letting someone mess my car up without paying for it. I won both cases with the other person's insurance admitting 100% fault and paying me out in each case, and that was without both of them lying their assses off to their insurance companies trying to blame me, and I didn't even any get help from my own insurance either time. Didn't even have dash cam footage or anything, either.

It's just that when their stories really suck assss, the truth is almost certainly gonna come out in the end with insurance. That's because when push comes to shove, insurance adjusters can usually tell which side is full of chit by hearing both stories and assessing which one seems valid based on the damages.

That's last resort stuff too, in my cases I mentioned here, their insurance companies didn't entertain their bs enough to bother arguing with me at all - again, this was ME who dealt with their insurance companies personally, not my own insurance company. If you have collision (I do on my new vehicle I got bc it's still too valuable to risk all the bs) coverage, aka your insurance pays to fix your vehicle up front and fights the whole thing on your behalf, then you're a complete pussy if you don't pusue your rightful insurance compensation from them.

Enjoy filing that claim for $500 in damages only to have your premium shot up; they don't care whether it was your fault they start to consider you a liability

If you get "door dinged" your best bet is to fix it yourself because it will save you money long-term
