I thought about putting I Spit On Your Grave on the my list but just like you I didn't really think it was really horror. And although she is 75 now, Camille Keaton was highly fukable back in the day. I wore out this VHS video in my early jack off stage of puberty, hahaha
Thanks for the response, but out of respect for the content of these movies, I am going to have to distance myself from the particulars of your response.

Starts off looking like your typical cheesy 80's horror flick, but the storyline/ending was something I haven't seen before and wasn't expecting.

Yes I saw Dr. Sleep

I've seen The Shining.

There was absolutely nothing scary about Dr. Sleep.

The Shining on the other hand was moody, atmospheric, had tension and horror.

Pumpkinhead

I'm looking for good ones too. I've seen so many at this point. I just watched "smile" which just came out. It was not good.

Some other ones:
-Dead Silence (scary if you hate dolls like me)
-Alone
-Tusk
-Shutter
-Martyr
-Terrifier
-The Poughkeepsie tapes
-Jeepers Creepers
-Creep

I was out of it last night but you hit the nail on the head with The Descent. Curious what you’d think of The Cave. It’s not as good but is still decent imo.
The two I bolded below are solid choices as well.

Oh chit
Backcountry is pretty rowdy lol
Also have heard good things about Black Phone but haven’t had the chance to watch it yet. We don’t have much time with a 4month old now lmao

Strangers was one of my favs too. Just straight up creepy as fuk.
Haven't seen the Cave but I'll give it a go if you recommend.

Black phone is pretty good - like there's a big paranormal element to it which kills the "reality" aspect for me a bit. But overall good.

I like horror that seems like it could happen on any given day. Like something not hella far fetched.

Watch "watcher" got a 88% on RT and brand new. The main character in the movie, is a foid who is VERY easy on the eyes.
