Government workers, state and especially federal usually vote strictly D for a reason. They know all the regulation and legal stuff drives up prices but they know that if it weren't for these regulations a lot of them would be unemployed as their job wouldn't exist and even if they do have the skills to get a job in the private sector they either wouldn't be paid as well or somehow their compensation would be much less. They try to cope by telling us to vote to allow them to tell the private sector to pay more but in all reality that wouldn't be possible to run business paying like that with as low standards. They also want us working people to demand the rich pay "their fair share" but they never talk about reducing our taxes, only insisting they have to raise ours because they can't raise the rich people's taxes. In all reality, lack of funding has never stopped the government from spending. They have no intentions of ever reducing anyone's taxes because they want all the money so they can live in mansions on the beach when they retire for doing a rather simple run of the mill job.

So twitter is private, but it's the way it's run. A lot of tech companies are making money hand over fist. They buy loyalty by paying their workers more. Twitter is apart of tech that has aligned with the government They use the government and the government uses them.
