All it could take is something on the news involving a non-white criminal, or even something like family being narcissists who are pleased with how they look in the mirror and randomly come to the conclusion in their heads that if they weren't white (or tbh, black specifically) they'd be displeased with the results of the mirror. Come to think of it, they were probably brainwashed by white actors and actresses in Hollywood, models, etc. If I talked about a girl from school, the first question would be "she's white right," or more commonly "please say she's not black."

As my parents have gotten older (55+) they've gotten a little more braisen, but solely in private conversations with other family. A recent example I recall is there was a black girl with fake blonde hair outside of a restaurant and they just stared at her from within the car at the parking lot. And my parents said, "does she think she is white?"

Doesn't even cross my mind. This is all weird social media obsession. I live in IL and not too far from Chicago and where I live almost everybody is just with their own race. I'd say 95%. People just notice the 5% more because it isn't typical.

Social media and incels just have some weird obsession over it.

you're right and honestly its getting cringier the older i get and i still think about it
