I don't want to alarm you but chances are your home's value (please don't look at the Zestimate) will probably be the same in 2025 as when you bought it.

I can't take rentards seriously when they post with dumbass logic like this.

Here's why rentard logic doesn't apply:

-Most people who buy a house plan on staying in it at least 8+ years and lock in their payment from anywhere from 15 to 30 years. The payment per month stays the same during that time period. If you rent for that same time period (8 years) you can expect 2-3% more expensive payments per year on average.

-You will most likely be paying for housing (Rent or Own) on a monthly basis. If you Dave Ramsey it you can be don't paying for housing in 15 years. If you 30 year mortgage it in 30. If you rent. For my personal residence property tax and insurance will run me exactly $2000 per year. Or $166.66 per month.


-When you own a home you build equity over a long term. You can ALWAYS sell your house and become a rentcel or rent your home out and become a rentcel. If you are a rentcel and decide to buy a home (Lets say in your 30s/40s) you're likely going to be down hundreds of thousands of dollars that could have been in equity.

-Yes if you 'rent cheap' you can invest the difference and hopefully grow your net worth that way. But for most men renting a ****hole apartment for 20-30 years so you can invest the difference only works if you date low tier women and/or don't have wife/kids. Furthermore in conditions like we are seeing now. The stock markets are incredibly turbulent. Even with real estate prices on the decline you have a fixed rate for 30 years and have a fixed monthly payment for housing for the next 30 freaking years.

I'm at a huge hotel chain's reservation office right now, all the amenities, super chill, but nobody here. I don't even know why I'm working on their machines, these huge corporate offices are done for.
