lol imagine being so money hungry that even $600 million isn't enough and you're willing to risk it all to gain more

Crypto was symptomatic of the Fed's asset inflation. With bonds destroyed as an investment option, there was way too much money chasing too few risk assets. And the Fed was piling on more money every month. So money found its way into literally the dumbest investment possible, and more money followed it month after month. The Fed stuffed the market like a fukking foie gras duck.
Now the Fed is pulling money out of the market and increasing the value of bonds drastically. Of course the dumbest investment in history will be the first asset to get puked up. But there is plenty of excess in every risk asset, created by $8T of money printing. Stocks are still overvalued by about 20% even today, houses are overvalued by about 40% given mortgage rates.... either the Fed pivots or the prices of both go down.
As always, if your investment thesis for anything doesn't start with "the Fed...", that thesis is wrong.

A few days ago a crypto news outlet reported on a leaked balance sheet from Alameda showing a giant amount of FTT on their books. In response Binance the top crypto exchange announced they would sell all their FTT because they lost confidence in the project. That caused the FTT price to tank and basically caused a bank run on FTX exchange. Everyone tried to pull their crypto out and FTX halted withdrawals.
Yesterday FTX almost went under and in desperation reached out to Binance for a bail out. Binance said they would acquire FTX after due diligence. Basically a distress sale. Crypto market tanked because of this.
Just a few hours ago it’s being reported that Binance will likely back out of the deal. If no other buyers or lenders show up then FTX might collapse altogether and Brady’s equity stake would be worthless.

The golden bull played them like a fiddle.
the buyout was literally a publicity stunt uppercut to prop FTX up for the right cross KO blow. Competition ded.
that was perfection.

If you bought your house low, which is what you do when you invest money wisely, it will go back up.

the world shifted. the low borrowing cost was against a USD petrodollar world reserve currency status. That is gone in 2022. BRICS no longer use USD.
