dental hygienist is good field to get into right now, at least here in Canada. Education is quick, with some pre-requisites you may get your credentials in 18 months. Pay is 60$ /hour(Canadian) and up. Men are still somewhat rare in this profession, but from what I see, men are more popular than women.

Downside: this is a very physically demanding job. Most dental hygienists I know are struggling with back pain, wrists and shoulders and elbow pains. I don't know any dental hygienist over 50, they simply can't work that long. For dental hygienist, weightlifting and sports in general are a must, not optional. Might not look like it from outside, but they work all day in a specific posture with poor ergonomics, and I don't think there is anything that can be done about it.

Job is repetitive with as little creativity as you can get. There is no growth. Are you ready for career that goes nowhere? Start working at 20's and keep going, doing same thing for decades? To me, this would be mentally challenging.

At $60/h where do you even need to go? That's a salary that most people can only dream of making.

It's one of the best jobs ever in terms of how lopsided the pay is compared to level of skill required to do it. You can basically make RN money off scraping peoples' teeth and suggesting they buy "special" toothbrushes supposedly not available anywhere else but the dental office you work at, ffs.

That being said, it seems to be an exclusively female position. I've never seen a man doing dental hygenist work, no exceptions. So it might be tough to break into for that reason.

Both are mental midget low-IQ jobs IMO. An alpha would just be a dentist or doctor instead. The world needs betas though.

My sister has been a dental hygeinist for 14+ years and worked for a couple offices. Cons: working with a bunch of nebby women, dentists can be cheap and/or make you sell sht. It's generally a small office environment, if you get a good boss they'll probably take care of you, but that is probably less than half of the offices out there.
