Twitter is in the middle of a civil war
Musk and his camp trying to right the ship

Blue haired Twitter employees trying to sabotage the company from within
Musk is trying to clean house by creating such a hostile/toxic environment that people voluntarily leave

- blue checkmarks did nothing. Allowed people to impersonate big companies and tank the company stock. Pretty sure there will be lawsuits from this
- blocked microservices thinking they’re bloat and broke 2fa
- got locked out of Twitter hq by firing the people in charge of granting access, having to beg for them to come back so he can get into the office lmao
- plenty of other things
This Twitter event is doing a great job at checking musk’s ego and showing he isn’t anywhere near as smart as he thinks he is

FUK the crabs in a bucket mentality. I'm happy twitter workers had so many perks, I wish more corporate overlords provided the same. However, also screw whatever bloated political bullchit entity twitter was.

He cucked himself into the purchase, Twitter is nowhere worth 44 bil and with the leveraged buyout Musk added another 13bil in debt, so a series of terrible decisions and that was only the buyout.
90%+ of Twitter's revenue is from company ads and said companies understandably weren't too keen when random trolls - for the low price of $8 - could impersonate them to drop n bombs and post bullschit that could potentially harm their businesses. So after much fanfare Elon pulled the plug on the whole $8 verification for new accounts a couple of days after launching it.
There's tons of misinformation on who exactly got fired - besides the executives - and how that will affect running Twitter from the tech perspective.
Twitter isn't going down in flames but it's safe to say at this point that Elon could have done a lot better.

Couldn't give any less of a schit about what becomes of that cesspit but it's a prime example of consequences associated with having a titanic ego.

imiscubb providing a valuable service in demonstrating some of the problems with social media like this
Why people go onto something like Twitter and get into useless arguments with people like him, I don't even know.
Why you would do that after 100% verifying that the person behind the keyboard is who the account claims to be, I think that's even harder to understand.

Twitter CEO Elon Musk single-handedly led a call on Tuesday with civil rights groups in an effort to assure them that he would curtail hate speech — and stop the spread of misinformation ahead of the midterm elections.
Musk said that Twitter employees responsible for election integrity who had been locked out of their moderation tools during the company’s acquisition will have their access reinstated by the end of the week, three people on the call confirmed.
Musk also said that users banned by the platform — including former President Donald Trump — will remain off the site “for at least a few more weeks.”
Seven civil rights and policy groups were on the call with the tech billionaire, who handled the meeting solo, apparently without additional staff joining him. The gathering was part of Musk’s effort to set up a “content moderation council,” which would presumably police users and content on the platform — and help ease concerns from worried advertisers.

it was a bad purchase. he basically bluffed that he was going to buy it and when he tried to back out, the SEC got involved and basically forced him to due to stock manipulation. it was a bad deal as the price was way too high.
he ruined Twitter's reputation and his own, acting like a child and trolling.
most of the twitter employees are taking the 3 month severance. and why wouldn't they? why would they suddenly go work in an office, under "long hours" and "extremely hardcore" for the same money they were getting WFH.
I don't think people realize that software engineers are in demand and those people will find better jobs.
