The only reason I am not against child support is because I don't want to pay taxes for raising someone else's crotch spawn.

But at the same time, just give the kid to whoever can afford raising it - all of a sudden you'd see divorce rates fall like crazy.
how is getting rid of child support going to make men not want to be deadbeat fathers?

Why do you assume men want to be deadbeat fathers.

Why don't WOMEN choose to not get married? Why do you force men to make that choice?

Your whole argumentation is shattered by the reality that the vast, vast majority of marriages in the previous generations were functional. Women did their job.Men didn't cheat.Families stayed together. All I'm asking is the shifting to the system that actually WORKS. Alimony and child support are NOT good for society and marriage.
Now that is some fairy tale. You believe that prior to alimony and child support men didn't cheat?

I didn't ask your age to be insulting. I genuinely don't believe that you have personal experience of what marriages looked like before the wave of divorces hit. And I'm not for divorce.

I knew women in my family and friends of those women and heard their stories of their marriages. Just because they didn't divorce that doesn't mean that there was no cheating or that the marriages were good. Some went through bad times and somehow came through it. Some just lived separate lives together. And I only know of two that ended in divorce- my mom and one of her sisters.

I think that you have an idealized version of life pre 1980. People are going to people. Sometimes a man would just leave. Or he would stay, but not have sex with is wife- he had side chicks for that. Sometime a woman might cheat too of course. Or a wife could be worthless, or a day drinker. Or a man could be physically abusive.

It isn't like everyone was really living "Leave It To Beaver" or "The Brady Bunch". Heck, "The Waltons" was an idealization.

My grandfather's parents had a LOT of kids. I think 13 to 15...I would have to go dig up the letter. They divorced. Some of the children were grown, or at least close enough for the time period. The younger ones they split up- girls with mom and boys with dad. The dad was paying for the younger boys to stay in the equivalent of a boarding school, until the father stopped paying. Grandpa was ill with meningitis I believe and was abandoned in a hospital for years before being sent to a state run children's home where he happened to meet up with one of his brothers.

All of your anecdotes are far superior to divorced, broken homes and single moms raising kids. Congrats, you've only supported my point further.

Why is nobody fighting for this? Why are people focusing on gay marriage or telling others to go MGTOW instead of fighting for obvious solutions?
How long have you been married / were you married, and with how many kids?

These are grown men who knowingly rolled the dice, and lost. If you get married in a state with alimony you were aware of the risk already, so nobody is going to feel bad for you if things go south.

Anytime I get some chick pregnant I just move to where there's no child support. Yeah, you have to acquire a new identity, but it's still cheaper than sending a kid to private school.
Based. Americans are incapable of leaving their shirt country towns they grow up in.

I've seen some instances where the man receives alimony, especially in my area where there are women with high incomes.

It's just that traditionally men make more money and many women stay home to take care of the children. If she has been out of the workforce for 15 years it's going to be tough to get a job.
