I honestly believe it has nothing to do with the economy, but more to do with the dating market. There's this one chick that goes to my gym who actually got her Masters in psychology that is an utter head case. She's tall, but not that attractive, but has a huge inflated ego. She thinks she deserves a chad and will make cringy cry baby post on why she can't find a man at the age of 26. Long story short, she now lives with her mom even though she makes 70k+ a year in Texas.

A lot of these young adults and 30 year olds are just lonely and mentally damaged from social media. They make more than enough money to support themselves.

I think circumstances, intentions, and needs should be taken into account, as they vary with individuals and families.

It's a cold world out there and the media has a lot of people divided and a lot of people dependent

Can't blame some people for sticking with their own

Most are probably just immigrants from cultures where you live at home until you're married.

That's one of the big reasons immigrants are crushing westerners. Western parents kick their kids out at 18, Asian immigrants let their kids live at home until 30 rent free and then buy them a house as a wedding gift.

I spot clickbait deception right away. Fools falling for rage bait.

Half of people18-29? Hold the fuk up.Nearly 100% of people are 18 in their senior year of high school within a couple months of graduating. Every undergrad college student (18-22) who lives at home or lives in a college dorm 500 miles away but comes home during the summers and Christmas break is "living at home" since that's their primary residence they use, let alone other people who are college age and living with their parents for a few years after graduating high school. So basically 70-80% of people 18-22 are classified as living with their parents, which REALLY skews the stupid 18-29 age group.

Let's see how many people age 25-29 live with their parents, not 18-29

Before assumptions, I'm not part of the statistics. I'm a dude in his 40s with his own home that hasn't lived with his parents since age 19, but I can spot fake statistics when I see them. The people who reported this set up stupid parameters to get the desired, skewed results they were hoping for, to get views. Not dissimilar tactics have been used with Covid. OMG, ___% of people over 65 have died from Covid. No, they haven't. But that's a different topic, so I digress.

Good point. Especially with college students, if that is included in their stats. It could be skewed but I do think there are a lot of 25+ year olds living at home. Especially in cities. In rural areas, not so much.

I’m 37 and I live around the NYC area. It’s really common, and a lot of my coworkers live with their parents while making 100k+ a year. I’m not sure what they are contributing in the arrangements in their individual situations, but it’s definitely not a rarity.

This is only ridiculed by the white man, and then they go back and around saying that they care about family more than Mexicans and Asians.

Both the above is very common to have multigenerational households. People usually get married while living with their parents.

It's the smart thing to do. The alternative is to be like my MIL and kick all your kids out at 18.

All of them hate her and are basically ****ed.

5 kids hating their mom, 1 married me so she doesn't hate her mom because she lives with me instead.

White people like ****ing over their kids just to teach them a lesson in poverty.

I don't think this is fake or inflated

I think it'd be fair to say at least 1 in 4 people between ages 23 and 29 are living at home, if not more

It is common these days. Did you read the thread? Most miscers are well over 25 and saying they live at home itt or planning on going back for a period of time. The other miscers itt are saying it's not a bad idea

You grew up in a different generation with a different economy bro. The 90s were thriving and still affordable pre hyper inflation. Thats how you moved out at 19

I lived on my own for a long time. Moved back to work for a wealth management company now as an economist, but I’m an alcoholic (that’s in active sobriety).

I’m at close to $2 mill in net worth at 34 but I can lose it all from alcohol. Almost died from seizures and DT’s, had a couple police incidents while going through DT’s.

My mom has a 6,500 sq foot house and it’s just me, her and my dogs.

I was semi kidding about the free food, but sobriety is the most important thing to me and having her around keeps me sober. She’s a gourmet chef and asks me what I want for every meal so it fits my bodybuilding goals.

From a time efficiency standpoint imagine not having to spend the time grocery shopping, cooking, paying bills, doing lawn maintenance, laundry, dry cleaning. It’s all done for me.

My time is spent at work, the gym, eating, and fukking. I’ve outsourced property management to a third party so don’t need to worry about that.

She has plenty of social events where I can invite girls over, I get nice hotel rooms for the right girls, and the back of the X5 for the naughtier ones. I’m not settling down anytime soon, not until I’m atleast 42. I’d probably be splurging on a $2,500 condo if I wasn’t here, eating out constantly, and slipping back into drinking.

She helps keep me sober, which is number one. People that aren’t alcoholics couldn’t understand tbh.

If I was on my own, high likelihood I’d catch a several year bid in federal, I’d lose everything.

I don't get it. A couple of my close friends from high school are like this. One of them actually has a job and could afford to move out, but when I've brought it up in conversation he either says "yeah, I'm definitely trying to" or just brushes it off. He's 34. It's not like he's saving his money for a house. Another friend I don't think has ever even had a job, doesn't even have a driver's license.

I moved back in my early 20s and I don't fault people who leave the house later than expected, but I don't get those who don't care or try.

In 2020, the share of young adults aged 25 to 34 living at home grew to the highest share recorded since 1960: 17.8%. In 2021, the share of young adults living at home reduced to 17%, which is still the second-highest share recorded. Historically, between 1960 and 1980 the share of 25-to-34-year-olds living at home was less than 10%.

moving out at 20 and being poor > being rich and being 30 still at home

no amount of money will make up for the years you lose not developing and maturing as a man by living alone

I moved out at 26 and I wish I moved out at 20 I would be x2 the man I am today if I did

At that point its just a self fulfilling prophecy man. Even if you have your **** together in other regards once you are 25+ living with parents its a massive turnoff for women.

In America you're pretty much removing a large portion of women from your dating pool. And in turn solidify the fact that its just going to be you and your parents.

As a guy who bought a house at a fairly young age (Most of my friends bought a house by 26-27 also). Its a massive qualifier for women. If you live alone and/or own your own home it makes dating/hooking up with women 10x easier. Especially if you have a hot tub in your back yard because you can essentially invite women over for drinks in the hot tub and its pretty much like shooting fish in a barrel.

Unless your parents are just extremely wealthy as **** and you live in a mansion and drive super cars living with parents is a death sentence for dating/sexual adventures.
it doesn't matter if you aren't getting laid you aren't gonna get laid period. might happen on occasion but living on your own doesn't all of a sudden guarantee you to get laid

It's true. After 5 years of working at a burger joint you could become a general manager, after 10 years a lead manager, after 15 years a CEO, and after 20 years you'd own half the company

All you had to do was go in and apply and shake the bosses hand while looking them in the eye

People are crazy. Misc somehow can't get dates without an empty house.

In high school and college people date all the time even if their parents are at home.

FFS I met my wife in college and banged while I was living at home with my parents. What's the big deal? Idk

As long as wages stagnate, jobs disappear, and real estate keeps going up, 50 percent is nothing.
