If they really wanted to stop being racists instead of changing the language we would just call people American and race would be a descriptor only used when it mattered to better identify the person [looking for a suspect or a missing person] or when it was an integral part of a story, like someone's biography or something.
Affirmative action done by schools, businesses, and government makes sense if it is needs based and about lifting up a depressed group, but that doesn't fall strictly along racial lines.
Wanna do some sort of good? Use zipcodes, as in if you are born and raised in a poor/depressed zip code that is proven to effect your life trajectory.
If well off grifters want to move to chitty areas to raise their children just to get an edge on the competition then more power to the idiots.
