christianity would be a lot more respected and widely accepted religion and seem more "true" if it didnt have that whole "if you dont believe what we believe you are damned to hell"

that totally illegitimizes the whole concept of Christianity to me

I understand MEN have changed their personal interpretation of it as men over time, but that is an obvious cope to make up for the major fallacies in thinking the original men who created christianity didnt think of to make it last long enough.

Any religion claiming a humanoid like deity is man made to an extreme level of brilliance and execution and effort in order to create a "greater good" for humanity.

God isn’t the only one that knows your intent. No need to play taqiya with me.

Quran 3:28 “The believers may not take the unbelievers for their allies in preference to those who believe. The only thing you literally have to believe is that you're imperfect and doomed to Hell and that Jesus died for your salvation. That's it. The first one is true, regardless of religion.

Oh so you want Christianity-lite. You get a ticket it, and you get it a ticket, and you get a ticket, everybody gets a ticket!

Christ came to bring the sword. Christianity is not a religion of being some peace loving beatnik.

There are actual consequences to actions or inactions that we as individuals make.

Matthew 10:33-43
34 “Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came not to bring peace, but a sword.

35 ‘I have come to set a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
36 Your enemies will be right in your own household!’[a]
37 “If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine. 38 If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine. 39 If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it.

40 “Anyone who receives you receives me, and anyone who receives me receives the Father who sent me. 41 If you receive a prophet as one who speaks for God,[b] you will be given the same reward as a prophet. And if you receive righteous people because of their righteousness, you will be given a reward like theirs. 42 And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.”

I thought most Christians believe that they just need to repent for their sins to be let into heaven? Although I do not discourage people from repenting their selfish actions and changing their ways, not at all.

So basically, no answers to any of my questions...instead let me deflect to something else. Defend your case firstly. What does this have to do about Jesus brah?

So how did Abraham reach salvation lol is the question I ask?
Or Job? The Bible says Job was righteous too...but did Jesus die for his sins yet?

How did they reach salvation?
2:136
Say, ˹O believers,˺ We believe in Allah and what has been revealed to us; and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and his descendants; what was given to Moses, Jesus, and other prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them. And to Allah we all submit.

How are you all identifying the enemies, and please don't minimize this topic to stupidity and say it is on their voter registration card..... because no one can see that.
I am being serious here and politics need not be intertwined with religion unless you just can't do any better and that is as "deep as your spirituality" goes.

Most Christians are Catholic. We believe that believing in Christ is not enough - even demons believe in Christ. One must believe yet also live our lives in accordance to God’s will otherwise salvation can be lost. Once one mortally sins, we must confess and repent of our sins in order for grace to be granted and salvation achieved.

Ultimately it’s up to God on who decides to save. Even my muslim friend above has a chance of salvation. Of course he’ll need to confess that Christ is Lord and be purified in purgatory, but God can do what God wants.

So why did Jesus die for our sins if I need to repent still?

Jesus couldn't even defend himself from the Romans and death brah...how does God die? Can't put my trust into a God who couldn't defend himself from his creation. Jesus was in need of food to survive...God doesn't need anything to survive and it's humans who eat. A Shepard can understand that; a PhD from Oxford can understand that. When God ate, did he also go to the bathroom? To understand the Trinity, I need probably a Trinity of PhDs to grasp it and even then, doubtful.

Quran 5:75
The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded.

God is far above what you ascribe to him
Quran 39:67
These people have no grasp of God’s true measure. On the Day of Resurrection, the whole earth will be in His grip. The heavens will be rolled up in His right hand- Glory be to Him! He is far above the partners they ascribe to Him!

An enemy is not just tangible but can intangible, as the enemy is sin. Essentially any thing that goes against God’s desire can be considered an enemy.

Porn = enemy, abortion = enemy, no-fault divorce = enemy, stealing = enemy, child abuse = enemy, etc. Anyone that promotes those things as good, is an enemy. Anyone that attempts to prevent my brothers and sisters from living our lives according to God’s will is an enemy.

I think your muslim friend is fine sticking to his own religion without other people's dogma being forced upon them

Like I said, being a Christian is most certainly more effective than chasing sex, money, drugs, being violent, selfish, etc - but Islam teaches that too, and then some.

Do I want to 'submit' and become a Muslim? No thank you.

But it beats the alternative in most countries to Islam (at least at this point in time), that's for sure.

but to repent for your sins you also have to bend the knee, admit the christian god is the true and only god, and jesus died on the cross as a half god half human to save your sins, its simply not enough that you just follow the teachings and live a christian life, you HAVE to do the first part in order for it to "work".

Of course, if you do what you said in the first response, following the bible in the way it teaches spirituality and you ignore the religious zealot nonsense, you can come out a very enlightened person.

But i think this kind of a conversation is WAY WAY WAY over this guys comprehension at this point in his life

A bully because I quote scripture and show that Christianity is not all kumbaya? Toughen up if you think what I wrote is bullying.

You’re the one that wants Christianity to change its core beliefs to make it more palatable to your senses.

Watering down the message into some Unitarian salvation theory would make it not Christian.

It’s like we’ve put up warning signs that the bridge isn’t complete and to not drive down it otherwise you have a very good chance of dying. And you’re mad that we’re delivering the message of what will happen if you ignore the warnings.

And I'm here for that...I'm only a warmer and I have no control over anyone. Of course we share a lot in common (Jesus as an example) and I'm only here for exchanging points in a respectful manner.

Let there be no compulsion in religion, for the truth stands out clearly from falsehood. So whoever renounces false gods and believes in Allah has certainly grasped the firmest, unfailing hand-hold. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

Let the people in this thread be the judges over themselves. The sincere ones who question stuff like the Trinity and I guarantee there's a few of you on here who ponder on it and how, in all respect, makes absolutely no sense. Do you still put your trust into it then?

I've illustrated using your scripture and common sense how Jesus could never be God.

And you’re mad that we’re delivering the message of what will happen if you ignore the warnings.
first off no I was speaking on your own personal words, not the scripture

also quoting scriptue when you are an ignoramous who doesnt understand how to correctly interpret scripture beyond face value, just makes you look stupid and I dont take it seriously.

lastly, how is scripture of any relevance to convince someone who doesnt believe your religion? They already dont acknowledge the authority you do and you are trying to use your authorities laws/teachings word for word to explain why someone should read those words? Thats like saying "let me read you the dictionary to convince you english is the best language to speak" that makes no sense, because you are stupid. Stop talking.

I am not saying your position is wrong, I am just saying you are not the person to be defending it or making any proclamations. You are the person who just needs to be quiet and learn a lot more before speaking.

I didn't even want to go there tbh but this is true.

The Bible isn't even dated to Jesus time - prove to me Jesus said what you're claiming.

Who wrote Luke for example? Go pick up the MacArthur's study Bible and you will see that the authors of Luke are anonymous.

You want Christianity to water down its beliefs to be Unitarian. We are not universalists. You fundamentally don’t know what Christianity is, and what it means to be a Christian. If you don’t acknowledge Christ as your Lord and savior, repent of your sins, and live your life for Christ, then odds are that salvation won’t be achieved. I’m sorry that this upsets you, but it’s reality and it’s time you came to terms with it.

You also clearly don’t understand the context of the scripture that I quoted. Otherwise, you would understand how those verses refute your universalists ideas.

You have a knack of attacking me, but oddly, can’t seem to refute anything that I wrote. I think that speaks to your inability to do so. I don’t think you know as much as you would like to think that you do.

Even with the 'organic route' things can go wrong, especially in the wrong setting, so I really can not agree with people, especially those who have not undergone the right preparations being exposed to such dimensions 'straight away' i.e., taking dmp, trips, ecstasy, etc.

This can all be done 'naturally' or 'organically' with minimal chance of things going wrong.

This was my issue. I went from being Christian to wanting to be Orthodox, to looking deep into Orthodox beliefs and questioning a lot, to realizing the truth.

Never in my life would I expect to start turning towards Islam. The spell was broken years ago from the typical western ideas on what Islam was, but to do deep research into Christianity vs. Islam led me to have to admit that Islam...is the truth. Christianity and the bible have a lot of beauty and so much truth and reverence, but the foundation is faulty. I had no idea Orthodoxy believe in the trinity or that most Christians believed in a triune God. I was raised on 1 God as Christian. Orthodoxy has so much truth and beauty too.

Tbh, culturally accepting Islam is a huge hang up for me to try and balance if I go through with this at some point. But hard to turn away from so much truth.

I'd say at my age now this one of the most powerful and daunting decisions I have been wrestling with in my life. The idea of accepting Christianity because it culturally makes sense and there is a lot of truth, but overlook some of the inconsistencies and false teachings....Or go against my cultural roots towards the almost undeniable truth at this point and go towards Islam. I honestly cannot believe how horribly and vehemently I was propagandized by western culture about Islam.

Inb4 miscers say I'm going towards an evil religion of peedo's, terrorists, and suppression.

Christianity is more like Buddhism or the Hindu religions than anything else where a man managers to attain godliness and transmit his knowledge to a group of disciples and is later referred to as God, because he is, in the mind(s) of man, so he becomes.

My understanding is that it's entirely possible for a man to act as a conduit for and project 'god' or 'godliness' and even attain some 'special abilities'.

My guess is that the father is the unknowable god, jesus his conduit, and the 'holy spirit' is the divine spirit inside of us all, awaiting to burst open and project itself onto humanity.

People treat Islam as one thing, and that’s how Muslims want to present themselves, but there’s huge differences in how it is practiced around the world, and even bigger differences in how it was practiced throughout history. Shah Jahan‘s Islam is pretty far from Islam in Iran in 1980, which is pretty far from Islam in the Uyghurs community today, etc. I mean, Al Queda, the Taliban and ISIS can’t even get along, and they are all fundamentalists from the same time period.

Numbers like these are hard for most people to comprehend, let alone formulate a thoughtful opinion over:
