I use a safety razor which I've had for years (a no-name one from Amazon),a long with Personna Platinum blades (100 blades for $10-12) and also use a Omega brush to lather with Van Der Hagen soap

Curious which ones gone to chit. I haven't bought any recently and probably won't buy blades for at least 5-6 years cos I have hundreds stockpiled.

Changing a DE blade is easy. And they're cheap AF. I shave 2-3 times a week and each blade costs ten cents. It literally costs me 5 bucks a year in blades to shave for the whole year lol. A blade is also way more environmentally friendly than a blade attached to a cheap plastic handle.
I trim down to 1mm stubble these days, never shave
That can work. Can you provide a big of what you use to shave to that level?
My guess is you got the green astras lol. Brand does make a difference. Check out shave forums and what they use and prefer.
I don't buy chit off Amazon anymore, they comingle and plus they are bitches about returns now. Buy from shave sites, same or better price most times.

Voskhod Krew
Yes, but this happens also to Derby as well.

Point is, I used to shave with Astra and it was butter.
[img]https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/7d961553-5f95-4c3f-9567-56a753b76210.580bd82c7fbd423f0095b5c632859045.jpeg ?odnHeight=2000&odnWidth=2000&odnBg=FFFFFF[img]

To everyone saying safety razor. The BIC ones I posted are just as sharp single blade AFAIK. Plus no messing around, just toss it when you're done.
They can be similarly priced but since the price includes the plastic handle you inevitably have to have a lower quality blade.

Also, don't wanna be Greta-maxing but safety razor you get a handle that will last you decades and recycleable blades.
I use a hair trimmer on the 1/2 half setting.

I used a Philips Norelco 7000 series. One of the best purchases I've ever made.

It wasn't those Wilkinson blades was it op? I just got some delivered
I am going to try them actually. Stay away from the best sellers Astra and Gilette on Amazon. Sew them to your suit Italian mob style and use them when someone tries to stab you in London. srs
[img]https://i.imgur.com/eSQ1xYR.jpg[img]

This works better after some use. It didn't cut well out of the box
I have had 3 of these and I hate them. They don't seem to catch hairs.
Its possible you just bought cheap/shyt blades. Also, I have found that if I grow out a "full" beard, and then go to shave with the safety razor without trimming first, the shave is somewhat uncomfortable.

Also, remember to change your blades every/every other shave. Especially when using cheap blades. And then just all the other little components of safety razor life. Warm face, warm razor prior and during cutting, lots of soap etc.
I do everything right when it comes to routine because before it was so smooooth.
used to use a safety razor and all that jazz now I just use a norelco oneblade
So what exact length is the oneblade?

Like does is trim to 1mm like clippers or it is like the rotary electric shavers?

They could have screwed up the blade. There are so many bad reviews of Astra Green I suspect the company goofed. Either that, or they're fake. Solution-stay away from em, AND buy from shave shops. Generally well regardless blades are Feather, Personna, Voskhod, Gillette, etc. If you go down the hole into this, there's some real specific stuff people like, for example a brand from a certain country.

Safety razor with random cheap blades from the store. But I always shower before I shave, sometimes condition my stubble so it’s softer.

Decent shave, but I’m sure I could get much better with a better blade.

Technique seems to be more important with cheaper blades. With the grain, perpendicular to the grain, then against the grain.

I use a Philips Norelco body shaver on my face. It's about 5 times more effective than my actual face shaver which is also a Philips.

after years of beard trimmers and wet shaving, i finally bought top of the line Braun Series 9 Pro.

was getting really tedious and annoying to get a close shave if I shaved after few days to a week....first i would use a trimmer and then gillette razor to clean up corners....but the whole clean up, having to charge that trimmer, adjust it, then rinsing face etc etc....gillette razors have also gotten cr@ppy lately..they dont last very long and leave small knicks and cuts and bumps.

will update if electric razor is a good experience...it costs a significant amount of money so it better be a smooth convenient experience....the thing comes with a cleaning station also so no stray hair bits flying around.
.
i also do lot of business meetings with senior clients now so looking well groomed is key and helps you stand out from liberal soyboy dudes with unkempt hippie beard.

Cheap dollar shave club blades from Walmart. I can’t grow a beard worth a damn, even at 30. It just looks like patchy pubes. So I stay clean shaven. Luckily I have a good jawline.
