I don't even use central AC or heat and my electric bill went up over a $100 more than it usually is

thankfully eggs have only tripled in price

it's a good thing we got great women that look after us and keep our emotions in check with their love and affection.

My insurance went up by a lot with no claims or tickets or anything, so I switched to a different company and lowered my coverage a little since my truck is getting older.

I actually looked into retiring it and adding another car, but the insurance rates for a new one would be a joke.

My electric went up a little (Texas) but I managed to get my internet bill cut in half for faster speed since they upgraded the fibre or something.


I've been buying less groceries and eating more cereal since the price of most of my usual stuff has gone up.

Where I live natural gas bill has gone down....Hydro about the same....car insurance about the same....house insurance up about $200....property taxes about the same.

Biggest jump I have noticed is the price of chicken and some other grocery items.

We are fortunate though as the house is paid for and a relatively high income for our location so we still spend like we did before.

Yea I pay my insurance 6 months at a time. So my monthly was $49 originally, then $53, now this one in January came out to $68 a month. Wtf. I have zero accidents, tickets, an older nissan sentra.

Car insurance doesn't fluctuate like your utility bills you tard-re.

They tell you a month in advance of the six month period ending what your new quote is.

If you don't approve, find another insurer and let the old policy expire.

car insurance in FL is expensive. i think it's because all of the degenerates and fraud.

i pay $2,400/year for $100/$1K, $500K/$500K, $500K, 20%/$10K, $50/$1.5K. Geico.

and i'm 53, retired, safe driver, no at-fault accidents, and only drive 3K miles/year.

I set up a server rack in my garage gym that I use to do home lab stuff on and it also doubles as the heater for my garage. Though, with the way utility bills are going I might have to shut it down. It's just too damn much now.

Was paying all my utilities this morning and was like wait this used to be 100 now is 140. Wait this used to be like 55 now its 85.. Wait this is normally like 96 now 125. We stopped eating out much due to the cost and so I've just been grabbing the grocery stores deli made dinners if its a night we are late etc..Because its like 15 bucks instead of somehow 38 dollars at a taco truck for 3.

Very upscale grocery store, got their family taco platter the other day, I *hit you not the meat which I thought was carne was roast deli beef. Was like wtf is this when I got home and opened it. Assume they can't afford it now or would have to double the price so they just started throwing in deli meat lmao. Brandons taco platters

I just checked and my last car insurance premium was 600$/6 months.. I should be getting a renewal notice in the next week, so we shall see what the increase looks like.

Got a live in GF now so saving tons of money vs bar whores and strippers. She buys groceries and cooks half decent so less eating out. 1200$/mo raise in June when my child support is finally over. Plus I'll have a few loans ending so another $800/mo or so in my pocket.

Haven't really noticed anything being much higher. I think my car insurance dropped $20 and she's buying my food now. Plus picking up bar tabs here and there.

Might buy a corvette and a boat.

Geico tried to raise my car insurance by by 20%+ for a 6 month term. Like other above. No accidents or claims etc. I switched over to progressive for the same coverage and actually lowered my 6 month payment by like $25. I noticed you have to do this every couple of years with car insurance.

I also cancelled comcast tv on monday. I was paying $265 for internet and tv a month which was already outrageous and last month they upped to to $296 a month and the email excuse was basically inflation. Now I'm just paying for internet and it's still $127 a month but I'm shopping around.
What are you on about mate?

Speak of the devil... my auto insurance from USAA increased yesterday from $130 to $210 a month, these freaking idiots.


I canceled yesterday and switched to Progressive, now my auto insurance is back to $130 lol.

My car insurance has gone through the fkn roof, and I haven't had an accident be my fault or even a ticket since 2010. Had very limited issues prior to that, too. My insurance swears up and down the line that I have every "good driver" discount available, and tried roping me into installing some stalker spyware ap on my phone that tracks your driving habits for a few extra bucks a month. Told them to F right off.

Tell me. Happens mostly at the grocery store for me. I have done less grocery shopping the past few weeks. Went to get a few things after the week of icy roads.

The chili beans I wanted had gone up to $2.29 a can. Ground beef around $7 a pound, $6 if you catch in on sale. Frozen pizza $9.49. A bag of tortilla chips $4+. Decent frozen dinners have passed $5 so I've not bought any in a long while.

Just mentioned to my daughter today that the new promo price is the old full price- angel food cake on weekly bonus buy for $3.99, used to go on special for $1.99 or $2.49.
Figure my grocery bill has gone up at least 30-40% even though I buy the same things. Can't imagine how struggling income families feed themselves anymore, honestly. Now even though I make good money I only buy stuff on sale.

I'm actually fairly conservative, but this was definitely a splurge for me. All the movie channels etc. Depending on where you live in Chicago, Comcast pretty much has a monopoly. As I stated even dropping it to just internet costs $127 a month now. So even if I just went with the basic tv package I would still be looking at $200+ a month all said and done.
