Is this a real question? of course not. your brain runs off of glucose and oxygen.

He prob had it way longer but found out when it was too late. My aunt was in her early 40's when she found out she had cancer, and died about 6 months later.

This is why you should always go for regular checkups

In short, yes. Chronic high blood sugar causes excess glucose to attach to proteins on cells, which then can cause dysfunction. Certainly not limited to the brain either. Dementia can have multiple initiators, but if someone also has a high carb diet, it's an accelerant.

Also keep in mind glucose is cancer's main fuel source, by far.

Meanwhile
US Government Food Guidelines:
-eat snacks between meals (elevated blood glucose all day)
-eat 12 servings of grains
-fake juice with high fructose corn syrup is lumped in with whole fruits
-Lucky Charms is healthier than steak
-coconut oil bad

Typical breakfast in a hospital and nursing home, often including for diabetics:
-fruit juice, muffins, canned fruit in syrup, pancakes or french toast, one strip of bacon
Typical lunch
-taco/burrito or a sandwich, jello, 2% milk or juice

Helpings of Metformin or insulin for diabetics to level out their blood sugar that's kept high. Repeat the anti-science mantra after me: high carb good, all dietary fat bad

Diabetes is high blood sugar caused by low insulin sensitivity and damaged pancreas. And low insulin sensitivity(aka high insulin resistance) is predictor for all kinds of diseases including alzheimer and dementia.

And high insulin resistance is caused by schitty diet like veganism or eating too much sugar, processed food or cooking with schitty vegetable oils like canola and palm oil.

Good diet might not counter these diseases if you predisposed to them, but it will delay them with decades.

Brutal. He almost certainly had it for several years beforehand and because he was fit symptoms were likely masked. An interesting subject I've been reading about lately is fungi and cancer. Nearly all cancer has fungi present with it. Some that are relatively common in the gut can decrease the effects of cancer treatments. But then on the other hand taking mushrooms (fungi) like reishi or turkey tail mushrooms increase the effectiveness of the immune system and thereby cancer treatments.

Avoid prescription antibiotics unless they're absolutely necessary. They can really mess up the good bacteria in your gut and elsewhere, and sometimes bad fungi fill the void.
