Op you got the F150 with the 5.0? Those things are fast as **** with just bolt ons. I know it's a work truck, but you gonna build it up?

Make sure to get an oil catch can. I wasn't sure if it was necessary until I saw all of the stuff it was catching. I would also recommend getting a steel skid plate if your truck doesn't come equipped with one to help prevent catalytic converter theft. I'd also get a factory alarm/starter as well.
The 5.0 has been great for power and fuel economy but it did have to have the cam phasers replaced just before the warranty expired.
When the engine is cold some of these engines (mine included) will have a rattle on deceleration, see the video below.
These 5.0's do not like 87 octane gas, mine would make a pinging sound at low RPM's but it went away when I switched over to 91. I recommend running 91 right from the start. After the boost in fuel economy it costs about 6-7% more to run premium but you get much better engine response, better operation and insane distances between fill ups- I went from 1140km/708 miles to 1300km/807 miles per tank.

It doesn't sound like you want fast and loud, so keep it stock. Wouldn't make sense to mod it for speed if thats not your thing and you don't really care about anything outside of it being a work truck.

I’ll probably leave it stock for the first year, and if I’m interested in juicing it up I might do that in the future.

I also struggled hard, and am still struggling with whether I made the right color choice. lol I've always had black or dark gray cars. But that blueish Azure Gray color was really tempting. But opted for my comfort zone choice.

GM seems to have good luck with their 2.7T so I was going to order a new Colorado, but I've found a 2019 XLT with 26k and is selling for 40K. I have a Ford partner discount through my job, so they might cut me a deal. Going to find out today.Nope, none of that crap.

I had 2021 F150 5.0 V8 as a rental and it was extremely quick. I had no problem passing dickheads who tried not to let me pass.
I can’t imagine how ungodly the must be 3.5 EB

I have the 3.5EB running intake, downpipe, and tuned on e50.
The 5.0 is slower and the torque is higher in rpm band but the engine is much stronger if you’re going to build it out, plus it sounds better but that’s not saying much since Coyote motors sound like garbage anyways.
My torque comes on in the 2k’s rpm band, all 550-600 ft lbs…. the whistle sounds nice too.

3 months in and still no build date yet.
Considering a Whipple supercharger for it now.

Why not find one on the lot?
There are 1000s of new trucks sitting on lots now, you're bound to find one you like and probably get a discount too.

I haven't found any on lots that match my spec I optioned out. I'm sure I could have found one and settled. But I wanted the v8, and that's not a common spec in the platinums. You see a lot of the ecoboosts, and powerboosts.
