Autism used to be a super severe diagnosis and people who had it were ultra retards.

About ten years ago they changed the diagnosis so almost anyone could have it. That was to increase funding for the American Autism Association, which of course if horrible.

In psych, if something has a better explanation, you aren't supposed to give the diagnosis.

So, a person has thyroid issues, you don't say they are Clinically Depressed, and the same goes if they lost their job, mom died, divorced, etc. You go with the real life explanation over the mysterious mental illness one.

No now, mild autism could be described by shyness, having a single mom, having parents who sheltered you, social class, and many things like that. That means you have to see if all of that is happening BEFORE you say a person has autism.

There is no explanation for autism, it's a total mystery. However, if your mom kept you home all the time and now you don't know how to talk to people, guess what....you were raised incorrectly. You don't have a bizarre brain disorder.

If you REALLY had autism you wouldn't care and wouldn't post about it because you would be AUTISTIC and such people are locked inside of themselves and don't worry about it.
