Yep I usually order straight from the brands websites now. Amazon is filled with fake stuff, fake and cheap chinese products, drop sellers etc. Also horrible customer service now compared to like 10 years ago. I don't trust amazon for much except cheap products. Would never buy electronics or anything over like $100 on there.

Look up the vendors and see if they're reputable. Never had an issue with amazon, bought tons of expensive electronics from there, including half the part for my PC

I looked at reviews and realized it was happening to a lot of other people as well. Weird packaging even though the product “looked” legit. Drop your phone in one of those and the phone was pretty much guaranteed to break. But if you buy one from Best Buy i could literally drop it every day, throw it, run over it etc. They started that 23 years ago
That is ist one example of several products where i thoroughly read reviews that look legitimate and ignore as much of the fake reviews i can. But a lot of items i no longer trust there. Saving a few bucks can cost more when your phone breaks etc.

I’ve definitely noticed it going downhill lately, a lot more misrepresentation
Also starting to just go back to ordering direct from stores, or even going to physical stores

Odds are the shipping is free and you'll have it in 3 days max.

Amazon has become an online flea market for the absolute lowest quality chit you could possibly imagine.

never understood amazon. I remember in ~2016 or so when literally everyone i knew was hooked on Amazon Prime (including me) and was ordering chit daily from them. I cancelled it a few years later and never felt the need to resub. I just don't have the need for constant junk to be flooding my doorstep everyday, so the service just wasn't useful anymore.
I have 2 subscriptions (hbo max, spotify) and dont get how people have more than 5 or so.

I never have any problems, but I only buy stuff that's got like 10k reviews and one of the "top 20" or so on Amazon.
I just got an Atoto S8 10" car stereo that mogs any Samsung tablet I've ever had. Don't care if full of Chinese spyware.

I've never had a problem. You just need to be selective about what types of products you're willing to buy off Amazon in the first place, and also need to not buy from obviously sketchy vendors. It's usually pretty obvious to me when a vendor doesn't have their shiiit together.

Amazon is certainly getting sketchy.

Only problem I've had was shipping. Things that used to take 48 hours consistently now take a week+. I remeber ordering things online pre amazon and you had to order it Sat/Sun so it could go out Monday morning and hopefully be delivered by Friday. It seemed like if it was in transit over the weekend things got f'ed up more. When they had free delivery within 24-48 hours pre covid I was amazed.
buy direct from Amazon. When you see this where it says its both ships from and sold by amazon:
[img]https://i.imgur.com/DXfrG1Y.png[img]
It means there are no third party sellers involved, its just amazon buying directly from the vendor and selling it themselves. So no fakes.
I did this (dispatchedAND SOLDby Amazon) with Cerave Hydrating Face wash -> burned my eyes and had difficulty washing it from my face
Bought it at a brick and mortar location of the biggest UK pharmacy chain -> washed out perfectly leaving me clean but supple with zero eye irritation; squirted a second wash from the pump and rubbed it directly into my eyes
checked for history of product re-formulations (maybe I had a **** old formula leftover stock) but NOTHING
mind=blown
Even this is sketchy due to fraudulent returns.... I once bought tire sealant from Amazon and it was obviously diluted with water by the previous buyer, then returned for a refund, then I bought it.
jesus christ, I have never bought anything that can be frauded with in such way.... but you just red pilled me with your anti-amazon expertise JFL repped

This has been a years-long problem now..... As far as I can tell, nothing has been done to combat it. If anything, it keeps getting worse.

Not worth it for me. There's a reason that reputable bike retailers don't sell this chit. Even the online store Jensonusa won't sell people garbage.
