The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is demanding Elon Musk turn over internal Twitter documents, including a list of the journalists who were behind the viral "Twitter Files."

Do you really want the government going after journalists 'tard? Keep in mind now that it won't always be the journalists that you don't like who tell you things that you don't want to hear.

There's no law that can prevent corps and the gov from voluntarily working together for their mutual benefit. I get there's a fine line between that and being strong armed by the federal mafia. There is already a legal process for fighting back though if the corp chooses to and we don't need another feel good law full of loopholes to complicate things.
And sorry, I'm not buying into the doomer "muh censorship of journalists" tripe. There's as much freedom as ever for anyone to spout their opinions, it's literally the fuel the feeds the daily whining on this forum.

You've got a prime example posted right here in this very thread 'tard. But tell you what... Since it was a Fox News link, how 'bout I give you one from the WSJ that literally says the exact same thing?
FTC Twitter Investigation Sought Elon Musk’s Internal Communications, Journalist Names
In 12 letters sent to Twitter and its lawyers since Mr. Musk’s Oct. 27 takeover, the FTC also asked the company to “identify all journalists” granted access to company records and to provide information about the launch of the revamped Twitter Blue subscription service, the documents show.

Lots of legit journalists, scientists, medical professionals, dissidents, etc. showing tons of examples of being silenced or punished in other ways like demonetization and leftists on here go “we’re more free than ever to express our views”.
No way anyone can really say that with a straight face after everything we’ve seen over the past 7 years or so. There are pretty much literal “Ministry of Truth” style approaches to information and the dissemination of it and people who once were skeptical of govt. and big corporations(particularly the partnership of the two) now suddenly love the marriage because theythinkthey’re on the same team as them. It’s fascinating to watch this stuff play out in the real-world, and what propaganda can do to a society.

I mean twitter is just information, right? Memes, and links to news articles, and people bitching at each other, right? So mutual benefit with the government... that's odd AF. Only thing I can think of would be influencing public opinion on government policy, and.... Dare we say elections??

And now... after years of denying it, said gumint is demanding the names of journalists who exposed....something.
Yeah 'tard, that's totally legit. You're right to not buy into the doomer "muh censorship of journalists" tripe bro. Good call lol.

isn't it not about Twitter's willingness to do anything but the fact that the government is trying to tell us things are misinformation? Because that would be very Orwellian

Also keep in mind the government has a legitimate role in disseminating information to citizens as well as a strategic national security role regarding propaganda and such.
That's not intended to be deflection, just to set the stage for how egregious this current thing is.
The rest of what is being discussed ITT may or may not be of concern, it's hard to tell from all the background noise of opportunistic bitching and choosing sides on what people feel is information or misinformation.

The CIA is very good at bullchitting our public.I have the same question though.
In the event of propaganda being distributed online by a foreign country to cause disruption would it be wrong for the government to let everyone know it's bullchit and should be disregarded?
I think they have a duty (in good faith) to do exactly that.

The way we protect against bullchit is a good education. Many of the retards here you see are products of no child left behind and common core. A lot of these down syndrome assclowns never went to college. This is the result.

Ideally, our government and media would be reliable sources. But we're right to be skeptical and it's up to each of us individually to satisfy our skepticism.
If the liberal scum at Twitter can't give you what you're looking for there are plenty of options. I mean, y'all never seem to run short of "facts" to prove how terrible Democrats are.

See how they managed to bury Sy Hersch's report on Nord Stream attack. They also buried the Ukrainian biolab info.

There is no such thing as disinformation, there is only information. And those in control of the narrative decide which information you are allowed to speak or hear, apparently.
For every man, there is a sentence, a string of words, that has the power to destroy him
