Was SVB just another money laundering operation similar to FTX?

the fact is all these banks invested in US treasuries back in 2020/2021 when interest rates were low af. because interest rates have risen the way they have, US treasures that are issued now have a way higher return and yield compared to the 2020/2021 treasuries issued. so why would ANYONE want a US treasury note/bill/bond from 2020/2021 when they can just a newly issued treasury that offers more interest and yield?
its like you retards dont know a fking thing. treasuries are the SAFEST asset out there and banks are failing because of their investments in least risk averse asset class around.
and you focus on blm donations? lmao.

They were a woke bank and made woke donations.
However, they also seemed to match the general wokeness of tech companies so that isn't surprising.
The current failing is related to SVB using US treasuries as a zero risk asset. (Which it kind of is, but not for when their clients had huge cash inflows and were burning through it like no other.)

Money laundering would be more like taking in funds from an illegal enterprise, and then loaning it out. Then writing off the loan. Or changing software which uses algorithms to find fraud and money laundering and skipping accounts or thresholds for accounts that service illegal activities.
I don't think a major bank or even a small one can really get away with that these days following the Bank Secrecy Act. Regulators would eventually get them.
Now and then bank programmers do get compromised by mafias and they'll do illegal things to hide money laundering. That happened at Bank of New York with a Russian mafia but they got caught.

Truth in the eyes of the corrupt is whatever is politically convenient at the time. Forgive me if I'm less inclined to lend an ear to what anyone on the Left has to say about anything.
All I'm doing is asking questions because the amount donated to BLM is extremely peculiar, which sounds like a money laundering operation given the corruption we've already seen in that organization.

Quite the opposite.I swear, learning to ask questions would do a lot of good for you retards.
The (very simplified) facts as they stand is they invested most of their equity in long dated treasuries at near zero interest rate., Bonds purchased at ~1.6% needed rates to stay permanently low. They didn't. When rates rose depositors start to get sweaty because garbage rates, it started a run on the bank, SVB has to then sell some of these treasuries to pay their depositors crystallising a fat loss, boom, illiquid bank FDIC steps in. All I can see so far is a catastrophic failure of basic risk functions.
