I kinda took my time with it, i didn't dodge most encounters. at the beginning of the game I felt like I was underlevelled and didn't have the spells and the personas so I found myself dying and repeating dungeons till i got the hang of it.

PS5 royal is a massive upgrade gameplay wise (just finished it recently 100+ hrs) over ps4

But honestly i felt the PS4 story hit harder.. way more creepier.. i like the village/murder mystery vibe that's going on.. I also feel like the confidants were stronger/more memorable personality wise? idk

PS5 story starts great imo.. i like how you are essentially retelling how you got arrested and the first boss/sex offender teacher started the story off strong..

After that it felt like it was just OK/GOOD for a LOOOOONG period.. before like the final couple of palaces then the main story really picked up (excluding Royal)

SMT makes persona look as dog chit easy as pokemon tbh.

5 is superb. I played the whole 100 hours then replayed it when royal came out.

Royal is 5 plus an entire new final chapter plus a lot of other editions. There’s no reason to bother with 5 if you can play Royal.

The story, style, party relationships, MUSIC, everything is just perfect. The story moves a little slow at times but the game is 120+ hours long. You’re going to be in that world for months, just settle into it like a blanket, the fun and comfort of the games world as you hang out with your crew is something else.
