Damn that’s a beer I’ll never get to have again. A good ice cold Franzi with a slice of lemon.

Of course it would be more like 6 Franzi Dunkels and a few Optimators and a couple shots each of Jaegermeister and Slivovitz, finished with a few large glasses of red wine. That was back when it was fun to drink, and only on special occasions not every day

I remember on a day when I drank less and felt good the next day, the feeling of not being hungover made my brain want to celebrate the feeling by getting drunk. Then obviously the day after that I felt like chit.

Just don’t drink again tomorrow. You already did a day, do another one
Thanks boyo. Can relate, whenever I feel better is when I crave it the most.

I plan on being sober for April, lets see how it goes. I usually crack after the second week, but I have faith this time

Yeah drinking is like procrastination, but for your emotions. If you’re going through a stressful period, you can always drink to temporarily anesthetize yourself from negative emotion and provide an artificial dopamine boost.

However, this comes at the cost of increased anxiety and reduced dopamine. So you accrue a “debt” of not only increased negative emotion and decreased dopamine production, but also a debt of inaction by not dealing with whatever situation is causing you stress in the first place.

Thus, your lizard brain turns right back to the only thing that quickly, albeit shortly, alleviates your overwhelming sense of impending doom. This results in a positive feedback loop that actually perpetuates your eventual and inevitable death.
