They've also been helping set up an African defense force similar to NATO, who is dependent on Chinese military contracts.

Also, I wouldn't envision any scenario where China gets cucked, they have the economic power to bring a lot of countries to their knees without a military (by design). And their naval production and capability is a large and serious concern, something publicly recognized by Congress and DOD in the unclassified report on China to Congress.

Like the commander above echoed and myself, most Americans are seriously underestimating China. Publicly, people have to dig for a lot of information to stay informed, and not simply Youtube videos like some are hooked on. Chinese websites, Chinese R&D publications, defense news, think tank analysis, public intelligence assessments, etc. I tried to bring a lot of that to light, but people seemed to maintain the notion that China wasn't a threat so I just assumed they're retarded.
They aren't really a threat to the US homeland via military, but they don't need to be in order to be a serious threat. It's why I wish US companies would bring manufacturing out of China faster than they are. Their serious demographics problems will slow them down at least. But they're also extremely nationalist as a people, so I could see the CCP dealing with their aging population (who they can't pay for by first world standards) by nudging and then coercing families to take in their elderly relatives so the state doesn't have to pay the old age pensions they cannot come close to fulfilling. It would be messy but if they propagandize it as a matter of their country's survival they just might pull it off well. And then their demographic implosion isn't nearly as much of an issue as it was projected.

Chinese submarines are patrolling off the east coast of the US and have a base in the Carribean to resupply and monitor our sub testing grounds in the area.

It's really cool.

We expect them to keep us informed on a topic like this, but like A-train inThe Boyssaid "You don't f*ck with the money".

In fact, it seems like our military is the only entity taking China in a serious manner by pressing forward with advanced modernization and manufacturing infrastructure.
I know that China is an enemy of the US. But as you have stated they have been buying up our corrupt leadership.

This has been my main push back- their military is NBD vs. the US military and they are demographically screwed.

That doesn't mean they are no threat at all, or that they are stupid in any way. Just watched this today- Australia says that if China attacks Taiwan they will not interfere- watch around 6:30.

In your own words, can you articulate why the PLA isn't a threat to the US military and why demographically they are screwed?

Their one child policy was in place too long and now they are aging much more rapidly than the US. The US and Mexico are two of the youngest developed nations. There is an animated graphic here:https://www.visualcapitalist.com/cp/...lem-1950-2100/

And the graphic is believed to be overly optimistic due to China lying about their birth numbers. Mainly stemmed from localities wanting to report good numbers to their higher ups IIRC.

2024:

^^^

Only about 20% of the population is females under age 30, about 9% ages 19 to 30. The below graphic shows the population that isn't of reproductive age.

And I didn't say that they are not a threat, only that they don't appear to be a kinetic warfare threat to the continental US. They have a lot of "extra" males relative to other countries, but AFAIK they do not have troop ships or landing boats to put those "boots on the ground".

I think that given the choice China would rather seize economic dominance and exploit US resources for their own people. Given how many countries are expressing an interest in joining BRICS the first seems achievable. The second might be possible if they own are politicians and corporate leaders maybe, though for some time now the US has not been geared up for production of much other than cheap row crops and oil and gas.

For their military vs ours, I assumed when you referenced NBD (No Big Deal), you meant not a threat. You're right that China's military doesn't currently pose a threat to the continental United States outside of nuclear, but I don't think that kind of action is on their radar, or any country's. Offhand, how much do you know about China's military and in what sense did you mean their military is NBD?

Did you know they outlaunched the US in military/intel satellites last year? I made a thread about it on the regular misc not too long ago. With the rate of development and growth of their space capabilities, do you think the US will be able to maintain pace with China's ability to field military satellites?

Someone needs to remind the Commander that he is being racist and xenophopic. Ask him what problem he has with chinese people? Why is he racist? Any criticism of the CCP is just racism.

On a srs note this was what they said when trump was president. Remember he was obsessed with China? Biden has already confirmed that China is an ally.

Like other countries that are below replacement rate:

- fewer productive workers supporting more old/retired people

- less resources for growth/household formation/wealth accumulation

Except they are declining much more rapidly. They also have less good quality farmland and more polluted water and air. They have achieve relative prosperity by manufacturing goods leveraging their cheap labor. Check out China around 1970:

They weren't devoting much manpower to elder care. Then in 1980 they imposed their One Child policy so not devoting too many hours to child rearing. With a falling population that cheap labor won't be so easily accessed unless they actively shorten the lifespans of their older population which could happen there.

The other side of that is who will buy their cheap[er] value added products? Demand is falling in western nations for demographic and financial reasons. The countries that still have a lot of young people to drive demand for products are also the poorest countries in the world.

They know that they are demographically screwed. Surely part of their efforts in Africa.

They have less hardware AFAIK. The US has been outspending everyone else for decades. Most of what I've come across says that the US has naval dominance still while China has a lot of fishing boats. I don't think that the US is lacking in ability to launch satellites. Also unsure how much of an issue satellites will continue to be in the longer term due to space weather stuff. The Earth is traveling through a zone which we appear to encounter every 11,000 to 12,000 years...weakening magnetosphere, potential pole shift, possible repeat Carrington Event. And I don't mean no worries for 10 or 20 years, we could see some big even within the next 5 years.

For their demographics, I believe your reasons are causes for concern but I do not see those as avenues for implosion/decay for China, especially given the control afforded to them by their style of government. With that said, those issues are certainly some of the reasons they are looking to push Africa into purchasing Chinese made goods. Future trade deals with China will involve purchasing more Chinese goods as a form of kowtowing to Chinese hegemony, similar to how the US has conducted business.

As for their military, I disagree that their military is NBD relative to the US military.

Their rate of production has been exponentially increasing over the last decade in line with the Politburo's plans for having a world class military, especially their naval production. People often cite tonnage as a reason to discount China's naval production but they are still able to turn ships around faster than the US (minus carriers) and their smaller class vessels are receiving state of the art EW suites, radars, missile defense, communications, and the whole nine yards (not for fishing). Outside of US defense estimates, there are Chinese hobbyist websites that track Chinese naval production and movement, but many of these have been cracked down on.

They've been drilling every day for a long time, extensive drills, for the invasion of Taiwan and have been training against hypothetical US targets in the region. They even built mock US carriers on rails in the Gobi desert to test their missiles against, with some tests occuring in the SCS. They practice airlift and air drops religiously as that's a key part of securing Taiwan or other Pacific Islands. And in line with that, they've been building up their airlift fleet (some aviation geeks track this through purchasing satelite imagery or imagery provided by Chinese sources).

They have developed a space based infrared tracking network for missiles detection and defense but it's not as extensive as the United State. They also have satellites in space right now that harass US spy satellites. How many nations are doing that right now?

Their missile capabilities are also growing relative to the US. China has one of the biggest missile stores in the world, with every type of range and capability imaginable. Although the US has been discretely testing hypersonic strike weapons for decades, China's been 100x more active in their development and deployment over the past decade. The kinda recent FOBS test by China is a testament to how far they've come and it holds sensitive US targets at risk.

They also recently expanded their fissile material production and their nuclesr launch vehicle infrastructure. Something originally downplayed by China sympathsizing watchdogs and policy makers.

I could go on, but you get the jist.

People have been discounting China, predicting gloom for decades, and downplaying their rise but look at how far they've come militarily and economically. Where will they be in 5, 10, 15 years?

Like what was stated in the OP, people don't know anything about China. And what they think they know is either outdated or grossly misinformed or underinformed.

Our IT guy was showing me the logs and we were getting over 1,000 attempts a day from China to penetrate our firewall.

They weren't even trying to hide their IPs. Most of them were from Chinese universities.

My guess is the students attempt to hack as part of their curriculum.

There's nothing stopping them from doing it and it's good training for the cyber arm of their military.

They try to penetrate every company in the defense industry, from top tier suppliers to bottom tier suppliers. Most companies do not have the resources to protect their data.

They also have an extensive database of employees who work in the US defense industry, their addresses, and target personal computer networks and the WFH devices connected to them.

Surprised nobody mentioned how China is already using non-military tactics to kill our people by supplying ******** to Mexico and smugglers to poison our people. Repayment for the Opium Wars. And our government seems to not give a flying ****.

China is an animal that the World Bank and globalists like Klaus Schwab helped create. I think it's going to grow too big for them to contain (and currently is), so regardless of whatever you believe, they need to be dealt with.

Congress is 100% aware of what China is doing with ******** in the United States, but do they care? Are they paid to care? They are paid to look the other way on a wide spectrum of issues.

They are also slow walking any significant legislation to prepare our military for China. We needed to start moving yesterday, and we're still waiting.

Lmfao...sounds like worthless IT. Real IT just sends FIN to these and doesn't log chit...waste of resources. We Geo block the entire Chinese ARIN registry and don't peer with them at Tier 1 BGP. Your IT are amateurs.

Btw lmfao at '1000 attempts a day'. More like per SECOND if your guys knew wtf they were doing.

And that's your solution?

US is overstretched, in debt, divided, losing influence across the world every day. US dollar is getting absolutely choked and most likely will be on a fast decline. You can't attack China militarily. You have also pushed Russia and many other nations towards uniting with China to crush US and their dominance.

In reality, you have no solution because there are none, otherwise your government would've done it.

They need a Mandarin learning option in schools. China's the future, and America is done. And dont think the politicians and elties haven't been completely aware of this for years. They're setting themselves up and pulling up the ladder behond them by collapsing the system we depend on.
