Going to just copy and paste my response from the thread where people were under the impression it’s a service to sign up for and also confused it with the cbdc program.

they already track all your non cash payments, this isn’t going to change a single thing other than giving them data china was already stealing from private companies doing the same thing like Zelle, if anything it alleviates issues like bank runs etc by letting fed run instantly as an intermediary providing liquidity, the only truly negative thing is govt will have access to what’s basically your bank statement. However if they would actually use the data to tell us what are taxes are and letting us dispute if we disagree, I would fukking be jumping for joy.

As for cbdc yes it’s going to be fuked and yes they are actively trying to outlaw bitcoin in bills in states all across the country where they try to define “money” legally. But the demonization of cbdc really shouldn’t effect our choices in a common sense instant settlement program.

Also once again for everyone still thinking this is “something they can or can decline” to sign up for. No it’s an infrastructure change for banking system. I guess you can “Opt out” of making ACH payments too, but have fun writing a check.

This is real and thefed expects BTC and other crypto to hit zero shortly after launch due to the backing of the federal govt.
Which means probably the opposite will happen.
