Custom OS? The PS5 runs freeBSD. They use it because it's free, just lmao at thinking it's some NASA space tech stuff. It's just a Unix OS. They also switched to a x86 architecture, which was a good move after how terrible the cell engine was for the PS3. It's basically a mini-PC at this point, one that is getting forever slower as soon as it launches. It can't even run native 4k except on 1-2 games.

Nevermind the ps5 only has 16gb of shared GPU/system memory. Do you even know how a computer works? Just stick to consoles bro and having daddy Sony help you not brick your stuff. Don't forget to pay your $70 just to be able to go online just lmao.


They're more than likely using a 4090 so yeah, mine can. PS5 is only two generations behind now.


That's just it man, you can have that single player experience on PC too. Only you can run native 4k, 144hz, use whatever controller you want, etc. I beat Elden Ring first on PS5, then again on PC. No comparison, PC was better. More stable frame-rate, better fidelity; I also have an overpriced DAC/amp + headphone setup so that adds to it too.

My favorite thing about the PS5 isn't the graphics, it's that I can play it on the couch and with other people. I've beaten Ghost of Sushi, FF7 remake, etc. all on PS5. Would they be better on PC? Maybe, but sometimes you just wanna hang out on the couch and play.

Now run that test with a game running, you'll get a fraction of the speed. It's all in the custom controller that only PS5 has which utilises the SSD with 100% efficacy, and an OS which is so streamlined it just instantly loads and loads games far faster than your pathetic nerd tower can

I can watch 4k movies on Netflix while maintaining 200 fps in apex legends, still loading in faster than the other people on my team, while using recording/streaming software, while also running half a dozen applications to monitor my lighting and various software for my devices attached to my pc.

The PS5 has two jobs, run an OS, and run a game. These 'blazing fast custom ssd controller speeds' are not any faster than pc loads. You think you get some big real time speed but you don't, consoles just now can load a game as fast as a PC. It's not any faster, nor is pc that much faster if at all. Quick resume is pretty solid, and def something pc doesn't have, but for multiplayer games you have to refresh or reload anyways. And really it ends up being like a 30 second difference between quick resume and just booting up a game.

I'd highly doubt the PS5 speeds would beat the best PC speeds but can we not admit how crazy good the speeds are on PS5 based on what you pay for? The console is just optimized to do one thing and it works really well.

The PlayStation 5 has one of the smallest storage sizes of any console over the last decade, but it's not as bad as it seems. Sony is reportedly using a specialized data compression technology that can shrink game file sizes by as much as 60%. This would more than compensate for 825GB of storage on the console.

Twisted Voxel reported that the survival game Subnautica has just a 5GB file size on the PS5. Compare this to 14GB on the PlayStation 4 and you're saving more than 60% of storage space.

TechRadar reports that Control: Ultimate Edition also benefits significantly from Sony's compression tech, coming in at just 25.79GB on the PS5 compared to 42.5GB on the Xbox Series X. That's a 39% reduction in file size.

Are you brahs actually excited for this? I love the original trilogy and happily stayed with it until the sequels to Force Awakens, but I feel like Star Wars has gotten so damn stale at this point. Were people really demanding another Star Wars game?
