George Lucas got so much chit for diluting the franchise with mediocre entries but Disney has been so much worse.

Rebuilding the jedi order is what Luke was supposed to do, as detailed in the many EU novels.

They crapped on his character to build up someone new and destroyed the message behind the whole series, and the fact that many people are ok with that is just crazy.

Guess the only thing that can be done is not give them any more money.

If she's going to be an invincible Mary-Sue and continue to defeat everyone that stands in her way, the only redeeming factor is they make her the villain, where somehow a part of Palpatine lives within her and corrupts her or some chit. She'd could be a good OP antagonist.

regardless i'm just sick of them nostalgia-baiting fans by bringing back the old decrepit cast because they can't fill seats with an original story.

I doubt John Boyega (Finn) is returning considering how much chit he talked about their trilogy after it ended, lol.
I always lol at Star Wars super fans who try to defend the Mary Sue "Rey" stuff. They had 3 movies over like 7 years to make sense of all that, and they only made it worse and and less sense with each installment.

Honestly, the root biggest mistake they made with the Disney Star Wars trilogy was not focusing on the old characters enough. I get that they needed to transition to new characters, but they moved way too fast. Han should have lasted until the second film, Luke should have interacted with Han and Leia, Luke shouldn't have just been a cucked hermit on a random planet by himself the whole first movie, and the whole thing needed to focus on Luke more.

Honestly another thing that isn't brought up enough was that the Star Wars franchise in general straight up waited too long to do the trilogy bringing the old characters back. Those movies should have come out 10 - 20 years earlier than they did, before the old actors were damn near nursing home patients.

Not watching the new trilogy. It's been butchered beyond repair.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy’s film will be set after the events of Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker, andfeature Daisy Ridley back as Rey as she builds a new Jedi Order.
Kathleen Kennedy strikes again.

In retrospect the prequels were pretty good. Not as good as the original, and the 2nd one is by far the worst of the 6.... But the Last Jedi and Rise of the Skywalker are easily at the bottom of the Star Wars saga

I'm not interested in an uninteresting "Mary Sue" character continuing her storyline.

Should go full on "Old Republic" storyline

Today I learned that Hollywood still thinks people care about Star Wars.
"To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

The Mandalorian has been pretty good, and Ahsoka is coming out this Summer. It's pretty obvious that the main demgraphic is kids and tweens since the storylines are kind of simlistic, but at least Disney is doing something with the franchise. Lucas just let it wither on the vine.

This is what i would do.

Kill off Rey as part of the plot. Kill of rest of sequel characters by some sith lord (and not Darth Emo)

Make some BS that Luke didnt die (just teleported somewhere). So he comes back so Mark Hamill can have a rightful ending.

Old ass Mace Windu shows up as a yoda figure, Luke and Grogu restart the jedi order and go from there.

Hell, even make obi wan have some kid that shows up.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, director:

"It's about time a woman directed Star Wars"

"I like to make men uncomfortable. I enjoy making men uncomfortable […] It’s only when you’re uncomfortable and have to have difficult conversations that you will, perhaps, look at yourself in the mirror and not like the reflection."
