Changing your oil takes like 15 minutes. It's more of a hassle to take your car in to get it done.

You hardly save any money doing it yourself. But I could see why someone would want to do it himself, so the minimum wage teenagers don't fuk up your car

You don't save much money but you get a much more premium oil for the same price as the trash vegetable oil the spanner monkeys put in your car, and a better quality filter too

Comes down to trust IMO. I don't trust any shops besides one small town one. Either do it myself or have that shop do it when I need other things fixed as well. Always more of a hassle because you need someone to pick you up and drop you off as well

This. Unless your time is useless to you. I can change my oil in about 15 minutes total. I would have to drive 15 minutes somewhere, check in, wait for somebody to help me, then either sit around some shop for a couple of hours, them a 15 minute drive home. Or you get a ride home and then have to go back and forth multiple times. Getting it done somewhwere is at least 3 hours of time wasted.

Exactly this. I have one known good euro shop here (other than the stealerships), but I wouldn't be taking my ride in for only an oil change, it would have to be a massive job that I didn't wanna do and then ask them to also do the oil. Aint trusting some poverty quick shop for decent oil. GTFO

I change the oil in my 3 trucks, 2 tractors, dozer, skid steer, 2 riding mowers and a boat with a 4 stroke mud motor.

I did the transmission oil on my truck last week. Poured the oil on some weeds and it still didnโ€™t kill them

I change my own oil on all my vehicles and I've rarely met anyone that does this because lack of finances.

IMO, this is even more important on a $100K plus vehicle...

Lol @ trusting the rejects that work at every dealership.

Even if they manage to do simple work on your car properly, which they usually don't, they'll scratch or damage something else.

I've dealt with this with almost every manufacturer.
