I went to South Florida last year around this time (May). I wouldn't go back right now - the heat there is unbearable. You might be thinking, "Oh, I'll handle it." But I said the same thing, and I was wrong. You can't prepare for how hot it is down there

You need an umbrella if you want to go walking around to explore because the sunlight hits you like a set of knives. And expect to sweat a ton. Miami Beach is too crowded. I felt places like Hollywood Beach was better, with less people

If I ever go back to Florida, I'll go in the winter months like December - February

You have to adapt to the heat over a few years, it’ll be miserable until then

You’ll see natives wear bubble coats when the temp drops to only like 60 degrees
Best lifts:

I am constantly waiting for folks to say something stupid but people generally talk about normal topics.
jobs, vacations, sports, weather, new purchases, people we know, and rarely religion.

Key West is far from a trump supporter hot spot. It’s very liberal and actually a huge gay community. The other keys before Key West May be a bit more conservative but not the Conch State.




Enjoy your trip Silly. Key West is beautiful. Great food, great walking around and drinking night life. Lots of bars for pub crawling, chickens running around freely everywhere and a good museums (Mel Fisher). If you get a chance to go to Dry Tortugas for the day do it. That’s the one thing on my bucket list yet to cross off.
